Fellow taco enthusiasts I need some guidance from the knowledgeable.

I am at 80k on my TRD Sport and know that its soon time to start replacing suspension, brakes, tires etc...

I am thinking of adding 2-3" on the front and 1-2" on the back to level it out. I am concerned that this will affect the geometry of the drive train components and subsequently reduce the life of said components among other (unknown to me) consequences.

If I lift 3" on front and 2" on back what components are critical for replacement to avoid compromising ride quality. Is a 2" Front and 1" Back feasible/ideal?

Also any guidance on quality lift kits (on a budget) with companies that stand behind their products.

As a reference, I like to camp and head out into the hills, woods, dunes/beach but this is fairly infrequent, having 4 kids I need to maintain ride quality on road, off road is secondary based on my responsibilities.

Thanks in advance for the insight.

If your on a budget stick with 2/1 lift. At the 3” mark you’ll have to get into uca’s for caster issues.

I did the Bilstein 6112 and started on a lower setting to avoid problems. I though I was going to want more lift but once I got it done and gained about 1.25-1.5” I was happy with it. If you’re not sure go with something adjustable. You may not need it but it’s cheaper in the long run.

OME makes good stuff but so many people had different results from their front coils it had me wore I was going to be unhappy.

Dakar’s are great in the rear. Especially if you haul or tow. I wouldn’t worry too much about being level either. I was pretty level stock and then ended up tail high after the lift. With the shell and any load in the bed or towing it performs way better than if I started level. To me a “leveled” truck is all about the internet pictures. Rake=functionality. And the ride was a huge upgrade over stock.

I went with ome nitros chargers all around and 885x coils up front got around 2 to 2.25 of lift.

I have all Kings Extended Travel front and rear, yes it's overkill but who cares. JBA UCA's up front and just about to be put in ICON RXT Leafs with a U Bolt Flip Kit with Timbren Superbumps. I would go with Wheelers Off Road or Headstrong Off Road. Always free shipping and great Customer Service.

I went with the Toytec 3” coilovers and jba ucas up front, Toytec 2” block in the rear since it’s a prerunner and just sees light trails when I go hiking. I really like the ride of the Toytec coilovers both on/off-road. 826D14AC-E2E0-489B-9147-8A36DA99D4DF.jpg

Really appreciate the insight! Im worried about affecting the overall geometry inducing other premature wear issues. gotoman1969 nice rig, mines silver as well and I like the black on silver. unchaineds rig is off the hook.

@Unchained 5150 , I’m looking to make the jump to some premium suspension and upgrade from the 5100s/Eibach lift coils.. Any regrets going with the full king set up or was it completely worth it? I’m pretty sure I know the answer.. just looking for that extra push to pull the trigger..lol.

@Gnarbuckle85 in all honesty.....the ride was pretty amazing. I have the bilstein 6112/5160 package and I thought my ride was nice. Kings .......if you are willing to spend the money and use them, are the best upgrade you can find for both on and offroad.
