wassup people!!! so im over here with my 02 taco, its running rough, been we been working through it. anywho, lately while driving, or sitting, the floor around the gear shifter has been giving off heat in increasing amounts. most answerable questions are pointing me towards a bad or failing catalytic converter. sluggish at take of, sounds like gravel dropping into a pan during acceleration. heat coming from the floor. any thoughts before i dive into the savings???

The exhaust routes over the transmission, from the driver side to passenger side. Due to your description, you cat is very likely bad causing exhaust flow restriction, and inturn heating up the foot panel.

Find the cat, and give it some love taps, with a dead blow hammer or mallet. If it rattles, you have your problem.
