Drove up to Daveytown ghost town and the Mayday mine today. Not much left of Daveytown. The road up to Mayday is really interesting and a 3 inch lift kit would have improved the experience as I finally stopped about 400 feet below the mine derrick and hiked up. Once I was hiking I was glad I didn't try to drive up any further as the "road" was really rutted and populated with large pieces of quartz that were nice and sharp! I would have tried it on my 73 Yamaha 250...maybe. My truck can be seen way down on the left corner in the 2nd pic. I was surprised that the mine shaft was still open, though it had the usual "do not enter". It was partially collapsed and there was another entrance near it with a big iron door locked solid. That mine entrance was more scary than my first blind date back in the 60's!

Forgot to add this one, Grand Union Hotel in Fort Benton MT. Built in 1882 from bricks and lumber brought up the Missouri River. Restored as a B&B. Great place to stay. FWIW, I don't have stock in this or any other place I post, but I like to share what I find on my trips. Great food across the street in the old bank, turned into a bar and grill. If the mods need to they can remove the photos w/o my truck in them! And, a little advice for those of you who are young. Life is short, take those trips when you can! Money in the bank at the end of your life will do you no good.

Stopped at Bonneville Salt Flats on way home from road trip with 18 year soon to be a Marine Grandson. Didn’t know you could go out on the course. Made a few runs he loved it. I hand’t been there since early 60’s. The blue line is what the races use to stay in a straight line while make a run. Made 1 run over 100 but the Taco started to lift and move around made it hard to follow blue line.

I have read on here, somewhere, someone said that the taco has a 115mph governor on them, do ya think thats true?

Spent the day at 7 troughs ghost town. I was there last year but didn't explore much and I love how quiet it is out there. You can see my truck down below. The 1st view shows the 7 concrete troughs just above the metal roofed brick building. There was a herd of about 30 wild burros along the road just below the town on the way out. I love those guys.

Took a drive out west. First pic is in Glacier NP. Second is on the inside north fork road in Glacier NP where the fires last year did a lot of damage. Love hiking here. Third pic is Polebridge Mt. They have the best huckleberry bear claws. last pic doesn't have my truck but shows where I like to sit along the north fork of the flathead river and have a bear claw. This thread is the best.
