    One thing to consider here. This is JUST a fuse box. A relay/fuse box is often more practical. With a relay, you can run low amp through your switches to activate a relay. Then the relay can provide full amperage from your battery to supply the load (ie. lights, etc). And it still doesn't need to break the bank.

    So are relays necessary for the setup I was describing? Can I just wire relays in as needed? I know my big light bar up front has a relay already. I guess I need to see which other of the lights will need one?

    I wire everything to relays. I do this for a few reasons. I don't need to run a high amp switch, or heavier gauge wire inside the cab of the vehicle. It keeps all that in the engine bay, where it should be. The lighter gauge wire is easier to manage inside the dash also. So far, I'm only running lights but plan to add a compressor and CB radio before too long and that's where the relay will come in handy.

    If you’re looking for clean, best to keep it all together. Otherwise you have a fuse here & a relay there.

    Not necessary, but, another fail safe. Depending on how much you are going to do, a circuit breaker or two would also be a good safety consideration. You could wire them into the hot side so if a fused link fails or switch goes out it will scram the system and keep you from being stranded.

    Here is a very good thread on auxiliary fuse blocks. goes into a lot of good information and well worth reading.

    but yes something like that would work. just make sure it can handle the total current or amps you will run at at the same time.
    if your lights only have a watt rating. then ohms law is your friend

    Amps = Watts/Volts

    make sure you use relays for high load items so you don't burn switches up.

    use a good quality crimper and try to avoid soldering crimped connections. it can lead to the wire breaking if not done right.

    I grab a 7200v line with my hands the other day... :rofl: best be sure you don't have a a hole in your rubber gloves.

    SALISBURY-Rubber-Lineman-Electrical-Gloves-D120-Type-1Class.jpg

    and was in between two 7200v phases, contact with both would have put 12470v into me and pushed the limits of my rubbers

    Let's just call it my 401K.
    Anybody got a chunk of land or a side of their house they'd let me set up camp in my RTT around COTA or remotely close for the F1 race? It's the weekend of Nov 1st, Friday and Saturday night. I wouldn't need anything more than a parking space and it would just be me, no pets or other people. TIA guys/gals.
