I'll be getting one of those with a 6.7 Powerstroke in Ruby Red fairly soon.

Debating between F250 vs F350. I need to haul my rock crawler places during the summer, do house chores, and next year or so I have to haul my mom's 64 Fairlane across the country to Wyoming.

I doubt the F250 will be underpowered by any stretch of the imagination, but there's always something that makes you want to overbuy lol.

Look up the part numbers, the only difference between the 250 and 350 is the suspension. The frame, engine and drivetrain identical.

I was 50-50 between getting another gas or a diesel. I was very very very close to pulling the trigger on a diesel. And frankly, if this deal falls through for some reason, I’ll likely still go buy a diesel. They gave me an F2 50 diesel as a loaner and you can’t beat a diesel for towing. The 6.2 is not under powered by any stretch of the imagination, but there’s no comparison to the diesel. It’s pretty amazing, I’m just not convinced I want to deal with the diesel all the time I’m not towing.

I now have a 90 mile round-trip commute. My FJ can make 1.5 trips before needing gas. My STi can make about 4 trips. The Crosstrek is good for at least a week worth..

I need a fuel efficient truck (read: diesel) that can handle a lot of towing with weight up and down hills.

I just need to get the money right. :pout:

Went to WF and picked up some sea bass for dinner. Cooking it up on the grill right now as my mouth is watering!

Why don't all trucks do the slide down rear window like some of the Tundras do?

Good question. I imagine the cab needs quite a bit of structure from the loss of stiffness from the entire glass dropping on the Tundra.

They have a great seafood counter. I don't have it anymore, but it was always wicked fresh and delicious.

I hope it lives up to my expectations. A few more minutes and I'll be able to tell!

The rental would get 22 mpg on the highway, but keep in mind fuel is $0.40/gal more, plus DEF, plus $100 oil changes. Couple all that with the large up front expense of the diesel and it takes about 150k miles before even starting to break even and that assumes no major repairs to the diesel. That was the part that ultimately made me walk away.
Well... it’s at a Toyota dealer so that counts, right? (See the Tacoma tail light in the front there?)
    Yeah... I do miss that.
They have to let the Tundra have some sort of selling point over the other half tons

But, but, but when you step in the skinny pedal and the torque presses you into the seat, you quickly forget about the cost differential!

That is the truth! I can’t even tell you how hard it was for me to back away from the diesel deal, especially since the rental is a diesel and I got to see first hand how easily it towed the camper. Plus, those sexy diesely noises coming from under the hood!
