I guess we have a few more chances so we'll just have to see what happens. Quartzsite is notorious for storms going around it and storming to the north and south. Here we have a ridge that runs north and south to the east that will funnel storms away. So Yuma and Quartzsite need a direct hit to get anything of substance. I guess there's a chance tonight and another tomorrow. I'd like to just get the dust knocked down.

I don't need a sign at my work ... everybody knows ... I think they get briefed when they in-process the squadron.

 

Son just left to go home. Called and said watch for a power outage as a low lightning bolt just blew out a transformer. Said it was a big blue pretty flash.

Ok, now we're getting hammered. Son said water's about 4" up on the sidewalk in town. It was just sheeting off the kitchen window. Lots of lightning and thunder. One dog is hyperventilating because she doesn't like thunder and is the bedroom with my wife. My ac may have just fried (not sure yet). Still have power.

....have to go take a look outside. This was just a passing storm. Hopefully more to come. Flood Warning for another 3 1/2 hours. This was one of those hard and fast monsoon bursts. Last 20-30 minutes, cleans the streets and gutter pretty good.

My son lives on the other side of town. Said his street is bone dry.

 

Hope the ac is ok.

Does most of it run off when it comes so fast and hard? I guess it still washes away the dust, so that's good, right?
