Couldve gotten a MT tbh but i opted out since i gelt more comfortable test driving it. My past 5 cars have all been MT and switching to the AT is kinda nice. I mean its not a freakin race truck where i need to be shifting on higher rpms. right now im good with AT

I hope a lot of people buy the MT Tacomas. It wasn’t my choice but it’s a choice I would like to have. It will be sad to see only automated transmissions available. I’m sure an all electric drive will be in our future, with a gasoline powered engine. Brake regeneration makes too much sense not to have.

I test drove a Subaru with a CVT around 5 years ago and it was one of the worst driving experiences.

We still have a Miata in the garage to get in and row the gears around in. That car would suck with an automatic.

Soon cars will drive themselves and robots will do all the work, then you can just sleep 23 hours a day.

I'm doing my part! Last 2 cars have been Toyota brand new MT, hoping for #3 as well. Problem is it always requires ordering and waiting :(

I got lucky, i went to the dealer and told them exactly what i wanted, and if they can beat the prices i had from other dealers. They said they actually ordered the exact truck that i wanted and it will be arriving in few days. They also gave me best price.

    Was a nice experience .

First day, when i bought with 9 km on it:D Best vehicle purchase ive made.

DE9FD687-A04C-4BE2-BA7D-DDFBBB506AF9.jpg I like the rarity of a manual. But, if they disappear entirely, it’s going to be a sad day. I get a kick out of using all four appendages to drive each day. It may be slower and less fuel efficient but it makes me happy. Thanks for this thread OP.

I miss driving a manual. My last jeep was a 5-speed manual but my Tacoma SR is an auto. I actually have never driven a manual Toyota of any kind so can’t comment on which is better. My Jeep NV3550 with the 4:1 crawl ratio was pretty nice on the trail though.

If you really wanted a manual, you'd be happy with a zip tie for a shift knob

But that is a knice knob
