I scoped the mega thread with all the DIY stuff but didnt specifically see stuff for starter issues.
    1999 tacoma 3.4l 4wd

Story - Randomly the truck wouldnt start. It was a no crank no start. I replaced the battery and it was a repeating click sound but no start. I let it sit for 2 days and came back in town and hit it with some vinegar on the connectors/terminals. It sparked a little and came to life. I drove it about 10miles with no issues.
Next morning - lights and dash come on - but with the ignition engaged it went dead. I poured vinegar and cleaned the terminals best I could but the car doesnt even light up or respond to the brand new battery. Completely dead.

Hypothesis: Initially, I though starter issues. It had power but wouldnt turn over - but made the clicking sound over and over.
Now everything seems dead. I need a volt meter to verify what exactly is happening BUT potentially someone has lived this issue already and can help.

    TL;DR
Car no start. no click no power.
    I got new battery.
Car make click with new battery but no start.
    I clean terminals.
    Car start.
Next day, car no start no crank.
    I clean terminals.
Car no start no crank but has lights.
8 hour workday later - no lights all dead. adjusted and cleaned terminals but no dice.

    FIXED
    Thanks....

For those that google this years later and somehow land here..

It was the cable for the fuse box in the engine bay. There was a small cable that runs from the box to the positive terminal - it had become dislodged and didnt read the battery. Once it connected, the lights came on and it cranked up strong.
Fuse box power cord... who knew.
    Amen.
