Nuno's "Clever name/TIT tle" build thread

Swapped out my non lighted side mirror switch to the lighted one.

 

Took off my BPF skid plate cause... Well, you can see for yourself. Debating whether to have it re-done, or just get rid of it.



Then took off these stupid brackets that were still on there because of when I had the bull bar.



And then took off these end "things" from that lower bar thing under the crash bar. Not sure what they do or are for.

 

Hey @nazlax10 and @kgarrett11, and idea why the lights on the switch would be out?

It's weird because sometimes they are on, and most of the time they are off. I checked the wires in the back and they seem like they're not lose. I'm stumped.

 

Hmmm. Did you swap the blue led for white? My suggestion would be that the solder came off on the led? @nazlax10 ??

 

Also did you use a posi-tap?

 

Yup, swapped them out. He swapped them out for me.

Pardon my stupidity but... What's a posi-tap?

 

Im sure there are some youtube videos on it. but its essentially a more secure way to tap power as you literally screw into the wire other than just clipping onto it. I bet one of your clamps are loose on your connection.

 

AH. Gotcha. I'm currently using t-taps, so I'll check that out and either replace what I have with those, or maybe just try replacing the ones I have be re-doing it.

Ya those T-taps are junk, get a pack of posis on Amazon and you're good to go

Stupid question to follow, if you don't mind. How do I connect the two wires then?!

 

I would check for power at the switch first and then we can dig into the LEDs. If one LED is loose they'll all go out. Sorry I was late to the party lol. I only really check here every now and again. If you really need me PM me so I get the email haha.

How do I check power to the switch? I checked the connections on the back of the temp panel and they all seem pretty well connected. Nothing lose.

The weird thing is that they come and go as far as being on. Sometimes they are on, and then they go out. Weird.

 

I would check with a multimeter to make sure you're getting good constant power. Since it's intermittent it sounds like an LED is loose. If that's the case I'm sorry about that, but I'll definitely fix it for you if so.

 

Wouldn't it be a pain in the ass to get it out though, since it's all glued on?

 

Oh I used hot glue to hold it in place. Yea that makes it a little more difficult. What kind of glue did you use?
