^^ Yep. Just needs to decide on budget. Also, after lifting the front, the rear will need some lifting to level. Don't forget brake lines to support a lift.

Once you get into replacing one of more front suspension component, then you'll find things to replace like inner and outer tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints. One new part seems to expose the weaknesses of the others.

The good news is, after you have replaced all front suspension components, it will drive like a new truck.

Find a card to use for your purchases that gives you a cash back bonus and don't get into debit while you are doing the restoration.

You have quite the spread there, from $170/pr shocks to ~$1500/pr shocks.

    A couple things, though:

Shocks don't support the weight, so Fox 2.0's aren't going to support the weight any better than Kings, Bilsteins, etc... If you're getting complete coilovers (shock and springs) make sure you get the proper spring rate for your setup, the shocks control how your wheels move up and down and how quickly they respond to bumps.

Overlanding: That is a fancy new agey term for going off-roading with a tent, or as we used to call it: "camping".

Since you're a pre-runner, I highly doubt you're going to get yourself into too many hairy situations where you'd need big heavy bumpers and a winch, rock sliders and all that stuff. Just some good all terrain tires and a shovel is all you really "need". A winch is never really a bad idea for safety's sake (which generally requires some sort of aftermarket bumper or front hitch mount), though. What's the worst that happens to your stock bumper? You tag it on a rock and scratch/dent something you were going to replace anyway. But if you go for years and never hit even your stock bumper, that big heavy low profile steel plate bumper wouldn't have "done" anything except lower your MPGs and look cool.

If you're new to off-roading and/or camping, I suggest setting aside the idea of throwing 3 grand in suspension and several more in bumpers and roof top tents at your ride for now. Just throw a ground tent and a cooler full of beer in the bed and head out for the weekend.

The more you drive, the more you'll figure out what mods make the most sense for you. Don't base your build on some dude's instagram.

Read up on my build thread (linked in my sig) for what suspension I currently run, and my future plans. I also talk a bit about the evolution of my suspension, and how at least in this case, I don't adhere to the "buy once cry once" mantra.

If you want a ~3" lift then you need to plan on kissing your stock UCAs goodbye, if you insist on keeping them you're going to have a hard time getting it aligned properly.
