Wrecked my 96 Tacoma,,,ouch

    Anyone on here ever replaced the core support and inner fender on a 96 Tacoma 4x4 ?Am I missing something,is both these spot welded in?

    Yes, the core support is spot welded to the inner fender and the inner fender is spot welded and glued to the firewall

    If you got the time and the frames not bent, it won't be too much of a hassle if you're mechanically inclined. Just tedious work

    Bought mine this way.

    I didn't replace the core or inner fender on mine, but it probably would have been easier. My inner fender still looks like a prune. I pulled it out by welding a chain hook about where the core and inner fender meet above the headlight. No door involvement on mine. Looks like you weren't so lucky.

    BTW, I probably have about $800-900 in parts for this rebuild: radiator, grille, hood, fender bumper, AC condenser/dryer, etc. So far only painted the hood/fender, but the match was not so good due to fading of the rest of the truck. TBD on painting the rest.

    oops, forgot to show how bad the paint mismatch turned out. Bought factory paint color. In hind sight, I should have just asked for the guys at the paint store to match as close as they could.

    Mine got crunched up like that. I managed to pull the support and inner fender back together and reweld. Used to look so good:boom:
