    All,

I’m new to Tacoma World. Seems like a great forum.

I can use some help and advice. I have a 2011 Tacoma long bed. It is stock. It’s 2WD. I want to put beefier/ more aggressive tires on it. Also, thinking I should get a front leveling kit so the stance is good. It’s a daily driver, so I want a tire that is a little bigger and beefier on the stock 16” wheel but not sacrifice too much with road noise etc.

What advice recommendations can you give in terms of the right tires and leveling kit?

    I appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,
    Greg

@gpfwvu On the main page to Tacoma world there is a forum just for suspension which has lots of good information on there. I will tell you that some of the most popular ways to level/lift your truck will be with new coil overs and an AAL (add a leaf) in the rear. There are few venders on here that seem more than helpful to assist I personally went through @HeadStrong Off-Road Marie does an excellent job. But make sure you look around there is also @Toytec Lifts and @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc. I have not heard anything bad from any of these companies.

As far as tires there are plenty that will fit what you are looking for it all depends on what you want Cooper makes a popular tire, I have heard good things about the dura tracs from goodyear as well as some that like the BFG ko2's amongst others there is also a forum for wheels and tires that will have a lot of the information that you are looking for.

Welcome to TW my word of advice spend some time looking through the sight and learning how to use the search function. Sometimes you can find what you are looking for by a quick search other times it may be berried in 10 pages of crap. Don't mind those that get in a tizzy cause you are asking a question that may have been answered a million times. From someone that is new and is unaware of how the search function works as well as filtering through the pages and pages of info sometimes its just easier to ask the question.
Lots of good people on here with lots of knowledge to go around.

Cheap: Bilstein 5100's on stock coils for the front to level it.
Better: Bilstein 5100's on new OME coils for the front.
Better(er): Bilstein 5100's with new OME coils for the front +3 leaf AAL kit for the rear.

Once you move up from there you're really jumping up in price and performance, but doesn't sound like you're looking to go all out.

For tires, go with 265/75 R16 to avoid cutting & clearance issues. P-Rated will always give you the best gas mileage. Some tires come in C-ratings but the selection is limited. E-Rated will be the toughest but also the heaviest and have a more severe impact on gas mileage.

Popular mild AT's: Hankook ATm, Cooper Discoverer AT, Falken Wildpeak AT, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT2's
Aggressive AT's: BFG KO2, Goodyear DuraTrac, Cooper ST MAXX, Nitto Ridge Grappler

If no one else has told you, you're starting down a long road that has no end! :spending:

I have a RWD that I use for a daily driver, and for getting to my favorite fishing holes. I added the Supreme Suspension 2" spacer in the front and the 1.5" block in the rear. Cost ~$140.00 and I installed myself. For my purpose, this component application was fine. In time, I will add a better AT tire, probably in either the 235 or 265 tire size.

I second the search funciton. I leared a lot from the folks in this group just reading the various posts.

    Welcome to TW.

I did the 5100 front level at 0.75 (I think that's the lowest) and it's been fine for over a decade.

Here is my truck. I am running 265/75/16 BFG K02's and the truck came with a 1 or 1.5 inch spacer lift for the front to level it out. No noticeable road noise from the tires and still get 18 to 20 mpg

Thanks everyone and @TXTaco211 you're exactly right. I used the search but found that it was hard to understand since I’m new the suspension and tire talk. Just thought I would start my own thread so I could get direct help. For those that I frustrated by posting a repetitive topic...I do apologize.

Thank you all again for the welcome. I will do more searching this weekend.

@ruffman great looking truck and thank you for your input.

The weather stripping doesn't stay on very well but other than that I love it.

2016 2WD 2.25” Pro Comp Leveling kit in the front with a Low Range OffRoad 1” block in rear. I did replace rear schools with Bilstein 5100’s and rolling on Cooper ST Maxx 235/85/16. I’m looking at going with the Yokohama Geolandar MT G00M’s next. Replaced the Faux Pro Grill with a 2018 Tacoma OffRoad Grill

I'm running the Hankook ATm's but I have a set of DuraTracs in the basement waiting to go on.

    Welcome Greg,
Since you're 2wd research MaxTrac Spindles. Biggest advantage to being 2wd is you can run the MaxTracs and it is the best option for a lifted 2wd. 4" lift though in the front. You can run an add a leaf in the rear or small block.

    https://maxtracsuspension.com/i-30500089-2005-18-tacoma-2wd-6-lug-4-lift-spindles.html

Tires: Of all the tires I have had I am a huge fan of Nitto Terra Grapplers of a primarily on-road truck. Good luck with your build!
