I have a 2016 TRD sport. Going with a 3” front 2” rear RC lift. If I keep the stock sport wheels what size tire can I clear? Can I get a 285/70/17? Or do I need to stick with a 265/70/17?

    Most people will suggest 265 70 R17

You may have some trouble with 285 70 R17. In some cases it will rub, and you'll have to do some minor adjustment or modification to get it to fit, like heat and mold some parts of the wheel well. It just depends on the offset/backspacing of your wheel, as well as how far out your track width may turn out to be after your lift. There are some people who have fit 285s on a 3" lift without issue but a 265 70 R17 should fit just fine. YMMV.
