Anytime I have hand calculated it matches within +/- .2 also, but most often it is +/- .1

I started to say something, but then went back and read a few of the early comments. Post #4 said it all. After that, the thread should have been closed.

For the same reason there's a new "what oil should I use" thread every week or so.

Went ahead and took an 'eco drive' where I went real easy on the gas during my commute. No ECT, full tank (Shell, regular), little weight in the back, stock SR5.

That trip was the best I had gotten by a decent amount. With great luck and alright driving I can hit 25-26 (ECT off) sometimes.

I normally get about 22-24 depending on luck with lights, other drivers, etc, with ECT on, driving 'normal' (in the fast lane). If I drive like a maniac I end up 20 or well below.

I’m lucky if I get 17. Not much highway for me however.

I've noticed, having just returned from a couple of months in Colorado... that my truck got significantly better mileage there than here (Oklahoma). My tanks usually average about 18.5 mpg here. Can get it up higher if I really work to the whole tank, but in general... 18.5.

In Colorado, I regularly got over 20. Taking lunch in the truck, and running the ac would pull it down to 19ish, but without effort I could get over 20 and set a new record at 21.4.

I noticed this while keeping track of each tank going there, and under highway conditions, that last tank's average shot up. It stayed up while I was there, and seems to be back to the 18.5ish now that I'm back in Oklahoma.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the elevation differences, air density and such?

Might be a regional difference in the gas mixture from the refinery.

I feel you. I almost gave up on trying to get better mileage.

Mine gets pretty decent mileage. My tank average has been as low as 15 when doing all stop and go in town, and 26 on road trips. Average is right at 22. I'm happy. :)

It says check charging system when the engine not running but the key is in the on position. When the car running everything’s runs great and there no warning lights.
