Replace the front brake pads 87850 miles on a 2016

Could have gotten more mileage out of original factory pad. Weather going to be changing soon. Not a fan of working in the garage when it gets cold.

 

Few little odds & ends... started off with a cleaning,installed my Pop & Lock tailgate lock, tailgate Tacoma inserts, and glove box inserts...

I relocated the XM antenna to my hood, but wanted a recessed look, so I copied the Victory 4X4 hood mount onto a steel plate. The XM now attaches by magnet. The original Victory aluminum mount with the TRAM weather cap is for a CB whip.

Will soon be doing the mod where the wife poops out a tiny human, and I’m assuming she will need to get in my truck from time to time. Anybody know of any good Yakima attachments to get an infant up on the roof? Or would a hitch attachment be more practical?

In all seriousness if anybody has any good suggestions for infant carrier/stroller systems they liked it would be much appreciated.

 

Blew some carbon out the exhaust ports driving home from lake Norman today. Four 300+ mile drives since i bought out in February. One up and down the mountains. One fast and flat all interstate. Still don't know what people complain about. 21 mpg doing well over the speed limit for four hours. Handles and runs as good or better then every small truck i have had. Only "complaint" quotes because i really don't have a complaint, would be the need to berry a running start for a high speed pass because it either downshift to third doing 80 or takes 2.5 seconds to downshift to fourth. Lol.

 

The best piece of advice I have on strollers is if you are tall, to make sure to get one with handles tall enough so that you’re not bending over to push it.

Ya, my Northstar cab-over truck camper blocks the XM "shark fin" antenna, so I relocated it...

 

nice additions! Where did you get the doorsill protectors and gasshole from?

 

I replaced my speakers. Went with all kickers, 6x9 upfront, 6.5 in the back. Subaru tweeters in the front corners.
Sounds more crisp than it did. Not muffled. Still could use an amp however.

 

I completely missed the boat on that opportunity.

Embracing the cheese grater. Installed the black grille surround and YotaLEDs today. I am still on the fence about having always on or only when the lights are on but I think I will stick with only on when the lights are on for now.

I've got a question... You relocated your XM antenna, and you are/were using a HAM antenna for FM. I'm pretty sure our head units only have one antenna input (I haven't needed to look yet).

Isn't there some combining or switching of the 2 antenna signals that needs to be done?

 

I can believe this because I once had a spare pint of DOT3 fluid leak out in the back of the cab of my last truck. Didn't notice until I went to use it and found the container empty. Apparently, the fluid found a way out through the cab floor and left no evidence it was ever there (no stains or rotting of carpeting or anything else I could see).

 

It's likely eating the e-coat off the cab floor under the carpet

Could be, but I got rid of that truck last year, and at that time, it was already leaving chunks of body and chassis parts behind in parking lots. So, probably didn't make a lot of difference.
