Good morning Gents - One year ago this month, I was parked outside Dawson City, Yukon Territory contemplating a drive up the Dempster Highway.. Couldn't do it. My 2015 2wd F-150 would never have made it. Sold my beloved truck and waited to get a truck I knew would take me any place I may wish to travel!

2020 TRD Off Road w/ Preferred and Advanced Tech pkgs

Picked her up two weeks ago, bought Interstate 6x12 trailer and am transporting personal items in and out of storage.. tows very nicely

I knew that this was a great out-of-the-box adventure vehicle.(Other than the Kevlar's, which I replaced with 265/75/16 Duratracs). This is why I chose the Off-Road over the Sport. For almost the same price I got the rear locker & Crawl control.

Nice truck! You will love the trip and the Tacoma will handle it well. We went from FL to AK in our 2009 TRD Off-Road for a 3 month trip 18,000 miles. We were going to tow a trailer the whole way then decided why bother as mileage dropped to 10 mpg or so. Good decision as cheaper to get a hotel/motel/roadhouse room and a shower and bed with interesting company each night. A much faster and smoother ride too. Had a tent for a few times we ended up in the middle of nowhere. We went west out of Dawson City over the Top of The World Highway into AK thru Chicken.

Added some real protection under the Tacoma with full All Pro skids and a Budbuilt gas tank skid all 3/8" steel. The gravel was thrown everywhere by the tires and had to empty the skids out a few times when we started hearing gravel sliding around in them. Also added metal screen under that front open area under the radiator to stop flying rocks up and have dog screen (heavy duly plastic stuff) from the hood in front of the grill to stop rocks into the front cooler/radiator/AC cond and that works great. Remember as someone comes the other way the gravel flies with them! Protect as much as you can. We loved the locals putting branches into the deep road holes so you could slalom around them.
