Could say the same for any compressor, as there’s a chance for failure in many aspects. At least with CO2 I will know exactly how much I have left in the tank before a trip. I’d argue that it’s more reliable than an air compressor, so long as you ensure you have enough CO2 before a trip.

I’ll admit I didn’t watch the comparison, but the main reason I didn’t want to make my own set up is the regulator. The cheaper ones can freeze over before you’re done with all 4 tires, and you’re sitting there waiting for it to thaw before you can continue. They also just don’t pump as much volume. The regulator I’ll have does like 42 CFM or something ridiculous. That’s the most expensive part of the kit. The tank itself was actually cheaper than buying one from Roberts oxygen surprisingly.

Plus a big bonus for powertank is their warranty and guarantee of passing certification. Certification is a downside to CO2 but you need that sticker to get the tank filled. I forgot who but I saw a really good video comparing air to CO2 and the little nuances of each etc. That kinda led me to hmmmm I'll eventually get a CO2 tank on top of having air as well. Oh and it's so quiet filling up your tires with CO2 I like it a lot better.
Ummm definitely this one of the last wheeling trips I was on 2 people went to air up compressors no worky they had to borrow mine. Mud, muck, and water can eventually take them out. I like my portable one and if I ever did a OB system it would be in a box in the bed to keep it out of as much crap as possible.

It's fast like ridiculously fast, quiet, can run tools, very portable, can seat a bead (may still need ether). Tons of pros and cons but it's about the same pros and cons as OBA has.

Yeah that’s another big benefit of PT vs going another route, the warranty is amazing. I equate them to the Baja designs of CO2. And at the end of the day, this kit I got is about what I paid for the dual arb, bracket and hose. I’m ok with paying $30 per fill since it’ll last me 6 trips, and as most I average one trip a month.

PT says you can reseat a bead on up to a 46” tire or something ridiculous with one of these haha but unsure if their monster valves are needed for that.

oh that’s another thing. They have this secondary valve stem you can add which makes airing up take approx 15 seconds per tire. Ridiculous.

Actually try it sometime we had to use ether as well as the CO2 on Eddy's old tires and wheels (now he's got dual bead locks). It all depends on how the bead broke. We were able to get a rear bead deseat reseated really easily but that front bead was an absolute bear! These were 2 different instances. There is no perfect way on the trail but there is no way we could of done anything with air on those tires. Just sometimes it just doesn't work and ya gotta fight shit to get it to work.

Yeah Powertank is really good. If I don't make my own I'll eventually buy one of theirs.

Poor BD I like 90% of their products until the recent crashnburn fog and rock light testing. Those 2 left me sorely disappointed in them when I had high hopes and Rigid too in the rock lights.

Need some ideas on getting 2 IP6s mounted on my truck. Those and the IP9s are my favorite lights they make so sexy looking and damn are they good performers.

Yea, the parts list at the bottom of the post lists an equally comparable regulator for less money I believe.

Not quite. The one in there is fixed at 150 psi and while I couldn’t open the link, I imagine it’s similar to the same one that wheelers sells. Not a bad one, but can freeze up and don’t have the same flow as the one I got. 250 psi 45 CFM. It’s pumping some serious volume. For comparison my arb is 30 psi and the cfm is around 4 or 5.

Right he should sell it to you.
Viar makes some better compressors for the $$$ that are quicker to fill tires. Mine beat a dual ARB and it's only rated for 2.3cfm 150psi. The CFM is where the $$$$ is at who cares about the pressure it's the amount of air that it can flow that matters.

Right!? Eh, I'll get over it soon. But air is something I really want to do, and it's top of mind after my beach trip. And of course OP is unloading his right as I get back and ain't got no skrilla.

Sand  Might as well just lug a giant 80 gal 5 HP 220v compressor around after the beach and blow everything out.

I know, FML. That's what Sunday was for. My teeth still crunch. And my frame notice was in the mail when I got home. Shitty foreshadowing, hopefully not.

Wash that bitch off. I saw somewhere someone took a sprinkler like this and just ran it for a while under his truck to rinse it off. Pretty ingenious. Also some guys have taken those floor scrubbers for the pressure washers and turned them upsidedown to wash the undercarriage.

These would be nice. But I got it. Albeit by laying on my back underneath of it for over an hour at the car wash eating each and every grain of sand that came off......... I feel pretty good about it. I worry about the sprinklers just kind of pushing shit up into crevices since their pattern is repetitive. I like being the one holding the wand, seeing where shit is going, and making sure it's final destination is the ground and not some nook or cranny of my truck.

Going to bring it to work sometime this week and put it on the lift and get after it with the air compressor too. Because, paranoia.

And then think how much time you waste waiting on CFA's drive thru, or Netflix trying to find something to watch. You could spend that time airing up...

The problem is that you dont waste any time in CFA's drivethru. Its literally the most efficient process that mankind has invented thus far.

I wonder how fast I could air up with a second ARB dual compressor....with a two gallon tank....
