Curious what other people are paying at Toyota dealers.
My first brake change on this vehicle at 44,000 miles.
All OEM done at an authorized Toyota dealer.
I know I could have done it myself for cheaper but I am doing everything through Toyota for now.

I had the rotors and pads replaced on my 2015 by the top offroad shop in my area for $300.

Bring it over. If it's just pads we can have it done in a out an hour for less than a hundred bucks. If rotors it can be done for less than 250.00

Why are the brakes wore out at 44k miles?

I would pay for parts, the mark up in service hours for pad and rotor changes are unreasonable for the actual work performed, IMO.

Parts are going to be $200 of that, more or less. So theyre estimating 3.5 to 4hrs of work.

They lasted 50% longer than front brakes usually do for me. First truck though.
I replace most vehicle brakes around 30k.
These have mostly been sports cars though.
Also I live in the big city. Lots of stop and go.
Not like (enter whatever backwoods place where your brakes last 100,000 miles and you had to walk both ways uphill in the snow to school. With no backpack or shoes.)

She is a work truck, lots of steep hills. Heavy brake on off road adventures.

I remember trying to remove the front rotors from a 2010 Honda Civic without an impact gun. Impossible. Then you have to take them somewhere to be machined.

90 percent of the time rotors don't need replaced on these or even turned. Just pads and go. Even so, these are not hard to work on. Next time bring it over, we can knock it out in front of my place.
