Just an FYI if needed; often when open fires are banned, they'll allowed fires that the ignition source can be instantly turned off (aka a propane fire pit).

After trying to camp with so many fire bans, we finally bought a propane pit off Amazon for about $100 and it's been great for these scenarios, and often just nice to flick on in the morning for warmth without having to build a fire and drown it out again. Our fire on full heat, will go through a 20lb propane tank in about 9 hours. No smoke, instant on/off, throws consistent decent heat, beats the hell out of camping with NO fire.

Just note you'll have to look closely at the county you're dispersed camping in.

Stage I fire bans will still allow them to be used, Stage II typically will allow them, but can restrict them if Stage II is looking like it'll turn to a Stage III ban soon and Stage III fire bans usually mean you're out of luck all together.
