Who here has had to replace a windshield on their 3rd Gen yet? Rock hit my windshield on 285 and made a line straight through my line of sight.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have. Was fun fun fun!
Also expensive as hell for the TRD Pro model. Stupid little GoPro mount!

Yeah just got off the phone with SafeLight. OEM windshield and re-calibration is going to be well over our deductible.

Lady over the phone said since it is a 2019 it will automagically go through the system without a second thought and If the insurance is paying the rest, hell why not.

Useless indeed. I have a great idea for a mod using a GoPro mount, and hinge and some cardboard cut out in the the shape of a birdie finger.
That way when I get cut off Incan just slap that little FU hand down from the visor position.
    I bet it would sell!

    I like it.

A dash cam mounted there would be worthwhile. I’m sure it’s been done.

    Two words.
    Epic. Gnar.

Limits were pushed. Adrenaline flowed like champagne. Lusting for more.

Looks like the trip to the river was fun.

    Where is Pilkington manufactured?

I ask because I am about to get a new windshield. One I saw was made in china - and was damaged in shipment. I forget the manufacturer's name - it started with a "T".

I must be the exception to this rule. My truck is on windshield number 7 all because of one rock chip.

I went with Safelite. They are nationwide and have a good warranty. Not to mention on of the cheaper prices. I figured it would work for my purposes. They came to me and replaced the windshield. Cool. Except that the view out of it was wavy as all get out. So they figured I just got a bad piece of glass. Came out to replace again, and again, and again, and again before sending the area rep from Oklahoma down to do the install himself on the last non-OEM piece. He even told me before he began "I don't think this one is going to be much better, but let's install it and see if the flex when it is installed straightens out the view. If that doesn't work, then we'll get you OEM glass at no extra charge."

    1 - OEM
    2 - Safelite
    3 - Safelite
    4 - Safelite
5 - Something I can't remember, but was supposed to be an upgrade. Started with an L I think.
    6 - PPG
    7 - Toyota

I had no issue with the quality of the work, but the quality of the glass was absolute crap. I now have 2 chips in my window and I called insurance to have them send someone to fill the first one when it happened. The person came to me and explained that the machine would put 80lbs of pressure on the glass and that i was guaranteed to crack the windshield because the chip is located in a stress area. So I opted to just roll with the chip. Then the second chip happened. I'm not doing anything until it cracks. I told myself that I was going to just go with OEM from the beginning when that time comes.

I had such a good time with your crawler, this may be my new hobbie ;)

I saw Sean’s truggy, too cool.

We shall see what I end up with, but it’s gonna happen soon. I got an itch I need to scratch!
