I saw a truck on my dealers website so I asked about it and its on order. Will be built around October 31st and delivered around thanks giving.

Does the time frame form being built to being delivered sound right? Never did this before so I was wondering what to expect. Any way to track the progress?

He said since its still on order I can add or remove accessories. Here are the current options based on the VIN

    • B5 Bed Light Port
    • D5 Door Edge Guard Port
    • DK Preferred Owner's Portfolio Port
    • ED Entune Audio Plus Factory
    • FE 50 State Emissions Factory
    • LF LED Daytime Running Lights and Fog Lights Factory
    • OC TRD Off Road Package Factory
    • R6 Predator Tube Step Port
    • TP Technology Package Factory
I was thinking of removing all accessories to save money and buy them cheaper else where. Thoughts?

Also are those the best headlights offered from Toyota on the 2020s? I saw a video and the guy talked about different models

You most likely won't be able to select or deselect all of the options if it's already on the build sheet. I ran into that problem. They can continue to look for the exact one you want though. Build to delivery time sounds about right.

Your headlights are going to be HID projectors with LED running and fogs. If you want the LED headlights they are a $485 option. I don't think that there was a lot of preproduction info given to the dealers on this. I had a sales manager swear up and down that all of the 2020's came with LED's.

They were pretty adamant about being able to do that. Worse case I will order a truck, only delays it about two weeks. I really want the
Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation with options package. It has climate control without leather and sunroof. and removing all those accessories only makes it about $1600 more

Toyota is a bit different when ordering. Toyota sells all their vehicles to distributors. There are 12 in the US. When a customer wants something different, the dealer informs their distributor and they will just take one of theirs that matches what the customer wants. So the factory never hears about your truck, only the distributor.

I don't have an issue getting in without sidesteps and I can always add them later. the only accessory I was thinking of is the TRD exhaust so I can add it to the monthly bill

Or you could buy a 2019 when the 2020s arrive and save about $4k, like I did.

Then I had them throw in:

    1) Tri-fold soft top Tonneau cover
    2) Pro Grill
    3) Tub Mats
    4) Winter tire/rim package.

As the salesman explained to me when I "ordered" my 2018. The paint color is something that can be changed somewhat easily. Changing the other stuff? No so easy. That is because the parts needed have already been ordered and scheduled in advance to build a specific vehicle on a specific date(more or less). What is the factory going to do with parts it no longer needs? If additional parts are needed, where will it get parts on short order? The dealership can remove or add some items if need be.

In my case they had to find a vehicle to match the options I wanted and get it allocated from wherever it was allocated to. Then they could change the paint color if needed.

Given all the options on there you don't want they really aren't "ordering" you a vehicle.
If built on that date it should be there sooner, but lots of variables are in play with the delivery.
Your salesman can track the exact progress and that even means the train it's on.

Both I can gladly go without! Really, who needs power seat????

I mean really, how often do you have to adjust your seat, that you need a power button to do it for you. LAME!

i guess someone who is tall wouldn’t benifit from it at all huh? I’ve sat in both model years. there is a difference.

And last time I checked you aren’t paying for the truck are you? If you are I’ll continue to pay attention to you. Thanks for your comments
