I don't have any pictures, but I have my lifetime average in my sig from Fuelly. My commute involves a ~3000 foot elevation change (office is in Phoenix at ~1500 foot elevation, house is further north at ~4700 foot elevation. Going to work I normally get around 30 driving 75-80, but obviously that is the downhill path. Going home, I get 18-19 with most of the drive being 75-80 again. When I'm not commuting, I am getting just shy of my lifetime going around town (usually right @20). Anyone familiar with I-17 knows the hill I climb on my way home.

I know exactly the climb you are referring too....that's pretty good considering the climb, plus I see you are an MT like me! I'll be driving that way (from home here in SLC to Tucson) starting tomorrow. I'm impressed with your lifetime average. Mine is 18.1 lifetime average on fully. Maybe I drive too aggressively (my previous vehicle was a WRX). But my commute is like 16 miles round trip, mostly freeway but right through the city.

I started taking the Motorcycle for my commute with the weather getting cooler. My round trip is 162 miles right now. I was dumping $50-60 every 2 days into the Taco. On my bike it is $8-9 every day instead.

I find that I drive the truck pretty relaxed, but if I feel the need to go, I'm always on the bike.

I did the math on my 7,500 miles a year. The difference between 16 mpg and 20 mpg is less than $250 a year. And up here, 20mpg would be a stretch in a Tacoma.

The amount of shits I give about trying to squeeze that extra mpg or two out just went down to zero.

Holy fuck. I thought my 90 mile round trip commute was bad.

I drive 8.7 miles to and from work, hilly terrain.. and I live in a rocky hilly state (not mountainous, It's Maine..) I can get a solid 18-20mpg.. but in reality when I drive how I like I get around 17MPG.. coming from my 2013 mazda CX-5 getting 27MPG average, it was a huge loss in MPG, but I don't care, my truck gets me where I want to go, and then some, and looks good doing it. it'll sound better too once i get my HPFP replaced (on order at dealership)... I didnt care about fuel mileage, and still dont, otherwise I would have got myself a Chevy volt, and plugged in every night... I however cannot afford to miss work no matter what the outside weather is I have to get there.. the tacoma allows me to do that... and 8 miles in a blizzard is not a problem for that truck with decent tires, and my experience driving in the snow.
