For three years I have Lived with a Truck that lunges when shifted to Drive or Rev. from park regardless if hot or cold, the constant shifting at freeway speeds. you all have seen it, read about it. Toyota has responded with TSBs and there has been grate improvements. what disappoints me is I also own a 2017 Camry XLE V6 with what I am told is the very same engine. This cars
auto trans. has perfect manners, and very fun to drive, reach down, posh the" traction control off " button and hammer it........there is wheel spin, tire smoke, Weeee
Toyota keeps telling me there is nothing wrong with my truck, that it it is what it is, and just live with it. So I thought why not go to a manual shift, as it turns out the only way at least in this part of the world is to get four wheel drive. So last week I traded mt Access cab TRD Sport Automatic , for a 2019 TRD Sport 4x4. my left leg is busier now, and there is a little drop in MPG
but now there is Weeee in driving the Tacoma.

According to the Bible The Devil has many names and guises, and is as old as time. My wife thinks I am the worlds oldest Juvenile delinquent, and at the least a " Devil in disguise ".......for more reasons than I can post here

Hope you are able to enjoy that truck for many years. I have owned several Tacomas, first, second, third gens. Every one of them had something that bugged me about it. After driving my present Tacoma ('17 Dlbcab, V-6, A/T, 2WD) I have learned to just deal with it..

Nice choice making the upgrade, midsize pickups belong with a MT!

I enjoy everything about my truck minus the engine trans combo. I left a manual before purchasing mine. For now I deal with the annoyances, but I do plan to test drive a 4Runner in the near future. Congrats on your 6spd!
