I didn't read all the posts (lots of posts...very good thread and I like skinnies, too) but when suggesting, listing or promoting tire/wheel sizes ya' gotta' consider whether your truck is lifted or not...cause' if not there are limits to what works/won't rub. For a no-lift Tacoma and especially if snow/slush/ice buildup in the wheel wells is an issue tires much over 31"D/10.5"W can be problematic. Those tall-tire profiles do look nice, though.

    Good observations.

I’m also thrilled that McDonald’s printed ‘Caution, contents may be HOT!’ on my coffee cup. Without that information I may have burnt myself.

You sure? It seems to be popular, also I wonder if that means they won’t be on sale in November

    Right from DTD

Thank you for your message. We show the Cooper ST Maxx in 255/85R-16 as being discontinued but I checked with Cooper and they have them in stock. Here is a breakdown for 5 of them:

    Update with availability!

The 255/85R-16 ST Maxx is not being discontinued and per Cooper this tire is available

We apologize for the confusion with that!

Did the chalk test on my 255/85/16 ST Maxx, 3G TRD OR with only added weight of sliders and IFS skid.

This is with 30-31 psi front and 27-28 psi rear.. chalk wear looks pretty even.

Just 2 psi higher 33F/31R and the center chalk wore away substantially faster.

What are you guys running? 30F/28R just seems so low even for an E rated tire on a light truck.

I agree that it seems like the pressure is way too low but I had similar results on my Canyon with LT285/70/17 Wildpeaks. Chalk wore even at 29psi in the rear and I think 33psi up front. There's not a big weight difference between our trucks. The point is, on midsized trucks it appears that to get even wear you need to run pretty low pressure.

just put an older wheelset back on, OEM rims with cooper ST 255/85/16. took off ST/Maxx 285/75/16. having to adjust my perspective of tire/wheel to truck. usual pressure on the road for the 285's was 39.5psi, or there abouts. the ST's I put to 36psi...random
