That still costs money. Briggs and Stratton oil has to be something already in the shop. I've got a ton of fluids probably past their prime.

Now when we say you might have a few screws loose it might actually mean something

Glad all is good! Being awake for that doesn't sound fun though.

Yea, lots, I'm taking naproxen which is a anti-inflammatory but as you can see there's still a lot.

Not much sleep the past couple of nights but you're right, there are mornings I wake up with it tingling.

    It's all temporary thank God.

You know that thing that is supposed to be all about love, the more I look at it, it looks like someone with a bare ass either wearing a dunce cap, a China mans hat, or that garden gnome streaking naked through the garden?! Maybe it’s just me. Not drunk...yet o_O:)

    Ha! Good one Danny!

Thanks Brother! Yea, they had to hit me with more anesthesia because at first I could feel him cutting. The nurse was like "you mean you feel pressure [as she pushed on my other arm to help me understand what pressure meant - duh] or you feel pain?"

I said it feels like a burning sensation or needle as he's cutting my hand.

They were like "oh, yea, he needs more anesthesia".

    LOLOLOLOL

Once that kicked in then I was good. Then it was all pressure. Amazing though how when they say "local" it is literally right at the spot because I could feel things like the coolness of the irrigation wash only an inch or two away and could feel him touching my other fingers to move them.

Now, when they clamped the bone together, drilled the holes or put in the screws I could tell exactly what they were doing, or even when he pulled on my finger to get the two halves of the bones to line up before clamping, I could feel all of it but there was barely any to no pain at all. Imagining what was happening and not being able to allow the image to register in my brain just causes that upset stomach feeling. Similar to people who get sea sick I suppose which is a result of the same lack of sensory input.

I've had so many surgeries though, and the best part about doing it this way was zero recovery waiting. They went over the care following in regard to bathing, activities, etc, and I dressed myself, and the wife and I left. Since it was so numb it was the best thing. We went and picked up some food at Wegmans, then to the pharmacy, and then home. I drove. By the time we got home though that anesthesia was wearing off so I medicated the fuck outta myself and chilled.

Next week they will fit me with a better, aluminum/foam splint to immobilize my finger but not my entire hand, wrist and arm like I went home with.

I took it off and put on one of my black latex gloves (I use when working on greasy oily shit - truck, tractor or car) and wrapped duct tape around my wrist to keep the sterri strips and sutures dry while I took a shower. Worked great, and is a shit ton cheaper than the cast protection bags they sell for that shit at stores.

I'll use Maderma on the scar and in about a year you won't even see it.

I just had a nerve conduction study on my left wrist because after however many years of construction, lawncare, typing on computers, wrecking bicycles and motorcycles, I have been having pain in my left wrist that is so bad it keeps me up at night. Its been going on for over a year and a half now.

No carprel tunnel, yet. But, i keep inflaming the muscles and tendons so much from over use that my hand hurts until it eventually goes numb. Sometimes i work so much both hands and arms go numb and my shoulders hurt horribly.

They told me there isn’t much they can do for me but that i should just take aleve and not work so much. Plus i now wear a wrist brace when i sleep and try to keep my hand elevated.

Apparently i’m too young to have this kind of damage already, too young for carpel tunnel, too young to fix anything, and I should just not work so hard. BS.

I’m going to see a masage therapist or some other kind of therapist for another opinion. Maybe i just have a pinched nerve somewhere, who knows....

Old guys like us Brett are not up to speed with these younger techno Brothers. I just go with the flow and appreciate them taking the time to teach me.

Maybe we can switch it up some?

Damn Mason! I'm sorry to hear about this Brother! Age has nothing to do with it. If you have injuries then you have pain. Now, how much and how frequent might be related to age but I agree with you. Bullshit!

I hear a lot of good things about CBD oils. Not sure how you feel about this form of treatment. I know some people even treat their pets with it.

Then, there's acupuncture. A lot of people swear by this too.

I have mixed feelings about physical therapy. It's never been as helpful for me as most people.

I'd be curious to see what you try.

Years ago in my hardball days, I had torn rotator cuffs. It affected my arms down to my wrists. Worse at night while trying to sleep. Went to pt and was given shoulder exercises. Pain went away in no time. It was explained to me that the shoulder muscles get crossed over one another and affect the nerves going down to your hands. Don’t know if this could possibly help but I hope you get relief. <3:(:)

I have arthritis in my neck. Sometimes the disc will press up against a nerve and I get a awful shooting pain down to the shoulder blade area of my back and down my right arm. Nerve pain is awful! A couple of my fingertips on my right hand are still numb from it. When it first happened Doc asked me if I played football or boxed along with the weight lifting. Apparantly it's a known issue in those sports. Doc said it wasn't from weight lifting it was from my occupation, under a lift starting up at vehicles all those years wore out the disc in my neck. It's weird because the pain wasn't in my neck, shoulder blade area of my back felt like someone was jamming in a hot knife and twisting it. I thought it was a shoulder/back injury from overdoing it at the gym, not a neck issue. Getting old sucks.

Absolutely! Certain occupations are tough. Brother in law was a heavy diesel mechanic. Can barely walk now. Can’t ride his Harley’s. But he is 67.:(:)

I have the same feeling and at 28 they found disc issues in my neck that caused it.
