    Hey guys,

I've got a 17 Taco OR 4x4 and I'm nearing 12k miles. Took a trip up to Big Bear over the weekend and it was pretty cold..got down to 14 degrees during the night. When I was up there I started to notice a vibration in the brake pedal when I was coming to stops but not ABS-like and I thought well IT IS icy on the roads and maybe the brakes were actuating a little differently knowing the temps were low outside. Well I got back home to the beach and it's still doing it and it seems more noticeable. It will happen Key On Engine Off if I just push the brake pedal and it happens every other push every time whether I'm in park in my driveway or driving. I let it sit overnight at home and just went out and looked at my fluid reservoir before turning on the ignition and the fluid level was noticeably above the "max" level. When I turned on the ignition with the engine off and not touching the pedal the booster pump ran for a solid 10+ seconds and dropped my fluid level right to the max line where its always been. I've had the truck for over a year and haven't ever noticed this vibration in the pedal. I was a tech for 8 years with Ford..given the only similar system we had was hydroboost on the diesels which did feel funky as well but this definitely doesn't feel normal for the pump to actuate ever other pedal depression.

Anyone had any experience with this issue?

From what I've read a lot of dealers tell you this is normal. My uncle who lives next to me and my neighbor both had 3rd Gen tacos like mine and asked them if this has happened to them and they both told me no and checked the feel of theirs..no pulsation/vibration.

    Thanks.

You running stock wheels, tires and suspension? I’m assuming not if you are at Big Bear.

Point is, what else have you checked?

All stock. Just visiting bear to go boarding..dont live there and wasn't hitting any trails. Not sure what the wheels suspension or anything else aftermarket would effect considering this happens when the engine is off and the ignition is on and I hit the brake pedal just sitting in mydriveway; or if I'm driving.

This just started happening at 11k miles and couldn't be more obvious. Also noticed that when someone else hits the pedal for me and the booster pump actuates a large really strong shot of brake fluid is hitting the top of the reservoir just infront of the cap. Some people say the vibration is normal but the other two 3rd Gens I have access to aren't doing this.

    Update:
Pedal vibration went away on its own. Took about 3 days before I couldn’t notice it any more. My guess was it had something to do with the temperatures I was driving in while in Big Bear (14F) at night.

Sorry for the very late reply if anyone was following.
