I work at a dealership and was talking to a gentleman yesterday who is in the "loop" he stated "when we get the new tundra in 2 and a half years...." and I have also heard that the TNGA platform isn't scheduled to be ready till late 2021. So it could be a bit longer.

Yes, this is exact rumor I have been hearing. We can just sit back and watch the official Toyota press releases unfold in the next 1-2 years.

^ I really hope that’s not true. I don’t need a new truck, the Tundra currently sold today is a great vehicle but I’m getting anxious for a new truck and really don’t want to wait that long for the all new Tundra.

I just flew a photographer for the San Antonio Express News over the land they're looking to expand to. The current factory itself is huge:

If the photographer was correct, the land they're looking to purchase would double, or more, what they have now.

Does anyone know when they plan to break ground? Lots of reports now saying the new Tundra will be a 2022 MY, but other reports say the first of the body on frame vehicles with shared platform will be unveiled in 2020.

I’m hearing it will be released in the fall of 2020 as a 2021 model.

What does increased efficiency mean for the buyer? Increased efficiency usually means less variable overhead rates; we should see a drop in MSRP right? Haha yeah I laughed at myself too.

That's what I am hoping for as well, however Tundradude34 is pretty up on things, and for awhile he has been told 2022. He has a whole playlist of next gen news but here is the latest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmPKEdzQSqw

Toyota themselves committed in big public announcements last year that the full stable would be electrified at some level by 2025.

A V6 turbo hybrid Tundra can’t come soon enough. The biggest complaint among current Tundra owners? The dismal fuel mileage (13 - 17 MPG).

    -Cost to fill the 26.4 gallon tank @ $3.25 gallon = $85.80
    -Cost to fill the 38 gallon tank @ $3.25 gallon = $123.50

And those aren’t SoCal gasoline prices. A gallon of gas is currently over $4.00 a gallon.

The tail lights extend into the tailgate?
    Well that's only slightly hideous.
