I had a friend several years ago who's parents sent him to rehab for video game addiction. Inpatient for 6 weeks.

Yeah I suspect there was more to it than that but we fell out of touch not long after that. Was around the time I got out of high school.

Yeah I knew peg was wrong but couldn't remember the correct term while sitting under the truck pissed.

As for the trans I got it installed and functioning but the transfer case is stuck in 4WD... it shifted fine before I put it in the truck so I'll probably have to drop the transfer case and see what's up.

Should I start another Tacoma project this weekend? I actually need to work for work later today and tomorrow. There is nothing pressing on the Tacoma right now. This would be one of the few weekends when I'm not doing something to the Tacoma since I bought it back in April.

Generally, I like to wrap up all automotive projects before the end of October -- Thanksgiving at the latest due to the weather becoming way too unpredictable. Then wait until after mid-February to start up again.

    Automotive Projects to Triage

    1) Lift the bed and replace the fuel pump. First item will be the fuel pump. While the bed is loose, remove the outer surface rust around the wheel area. This will be a multi day project. I'll keep the bed loose while I pull the truck in and out of the garage. Sandblasting and painting will be done outside of the garage. I'm not looking forward to this one but want to get this all wrapped up.

    2) Replace the radiator. I noticed the tell-tale sign of white coolant residue beginning to appear around the upper tank seam a few weeks ago. I can smell coolant around the area when its hot. Though I don't think it has lost over a cup of coolant since I finished the refresh in June. I have a new Denso radiator in the workshop ready to be installed at the right time. I should have replaced the old radiator when I had it out back in June. I didn't think the radiator was that old at the time Though it must be some off the wall aftermarket because a new OEM cap would spit coolant. It took an aftermarket cap (Stant) cap to stop the spitting. I like to nip any type of cooling system problem in the bud.

    3) Replace the 1/4 poly spacer on the driver side above the shock with a 1/2 anodized aluminum version from Wheelers. After installing the AALs the other day, I noticed a slight "Taco Lean" on the driver side. I got out my dad's old construction level and determined I need to lift the driver side another 1/4 inch to level things out. I should have bought the 1/2 version at the time I bought the shocks and springs. You live and learn.

    4) Install the new Spicer center bearing. I bought a new Spicer center bearing thinking the old one was the cause of my rear drive line vibration. It turned out that after replacing two of the new Michelin defender tires that were taking excessive weight with very through balancing from Discount Tire, the vibration went away. One of the new Method wheels is taking weight without the tire. So the guys at DT had to rotate the tire on the rim to balance out the weight. I may buy another wheel and just use this one on the spare. It started to turn into a hassle returning one of the wheels with Tire Rack. I should have bought the wheels from Discount Tire but didn't know much about them at the time since they were 40+ miles away. I can shake the old center bearing and get some play. But I'm not suffering from any vibration issues at the moment. So this is a low priority item that I may decide to hold for next year.

    5) Decide what to do with the two sets of stainless brake lines. I like the looks of the LCE lines. But I need to find a way to cut off one of the extra brackets without damaging the line. The crazy part of this is the O'Reilly lines that I bought have slightly larger fluid passage holes than either SS line. The O'Reilly banjo bolts are quite larger than the OEM and the one I bought from Wheelers. The brake pedal feels tight and really easy to lock up now. I think I should just hold on this project while I'm ahead.

    6) Install new brake pads and possibly rotors on the 04 Civic. Brake time for it.

    7) Wash and wax the Nissans before winter.
