Probably about. I've never actually measured it, to be honest

Sweet. Hopefully yours works out well for you too.

I'm actually kind of surprised you haven't knocked one together out of leftover project wood.

Who wants to split this rock Maple for me? Biggest part of the tree had a diameter of nearly 6 foot. To think, I don't even have a fireplace.

I'm in South west Indiana. The property I have, has grown some monster trees. I've cut two rock maples down there were over 5 ft dbh.

I saw some really beautiful spoons carved with 'hard maple'. I imagine the value is high to wood workers.

I split stuff that big a few years ago. Wedge/sledged to get it small enough to go onto the Mighty Ox, then ran it through there multiple times. A real chore.

I'm thousands of miles from my saws and my wood stove, and I can feel the weather changing. Thanks for keeping the wood burning alive for me guys :)

It was mid 90s earlier in the week. Got the stove and chimney cleaned out yesterday. Hoping to use the 60 degree weather to open windows and burn the dust off the stove today!

I actually fired up the stove last night, was 58°F in the house and was forecast to drop into the mid thirties overnight. I refuse to turn the furnace on the first week of October lol.

I cleaned the stove today, not a horrible job. The PITA level is about the same as our old one which I can live with. We've had 40 degree nights and the house is starting to take a chill, so I'll probably fire it up tonight.
