Years ago I started using non ethanol 87 octane in all my small engines due to rotted fuel lines, carb clogs and jet/bowl corrosion as well as short storage life all attributed to Ethanol. I drain fuel tanks and carb bowls on equipment not being used on a weekly basis, I use only TruFuel 50:1 in my 2 stroke engines. I like my engines to POP on the first pull and they DO NOW! I recently OBDII scanned a friends yoda with a P0420. Sensors 1and 2 were OK. No exhaust leaks etc. She was sold Cataclean which smelled like TruFuel to me. Cataclean is $25 for 12oz. TrueFuel is $20 per gallon. Long story short we added a gallon of TruFuel to her 1/4 tank and drove 50 mi.then filled up with Ethanol free gas. The CEL turned itself off and OBDII check engine ready was all green, good to go. After 340 mi. and a fill up with "10 percent ethanol" +50mi. OBDII shows P0420 pending. I think its time to switch gas stations and run Etanol free only due to the results of our experiment. 150k+ on cats. Non Ethanol 87 octane is $2.99 gal. here. Any comments ?

Ethanol will cause gasoline to absorb water from the air if sits for any extended time. now idk how big of a deal this is with trucks. but we have dixie chopper mowers that will absorb enough water to make them backfire real bad if and only if you put non-ethanol-free gas in it.

Had to do the same. Draining gas from a dixie chopper was a BITCH. and they have ridiculously large gas tanks for a mower.

some areas don't have ethanol free, only around areas that use fishing boats ALOT. That is where I'd fine me some high octane ethanol free gas.

Can’t find anything but E10+ around here. My truck ran so much better on non-ethanol last time I was in Idaho. Damned corn subsidies.

You are absolutely right. I live on a peninsula surrounded by salt water. Boats everywhere here. Big oil gas stations dont have Ethanol free, only one privately owned company has 87 and 91 octane ethanol free plus propane fill up. :spending:

I too only use ethanol free fuel in all of my small equipment. Additionally, I add Chemtool B12 to my vehicles as well as the fuel cans for my small outdoor equipment - even my 2 stroke stuff. Works great.

I’ve not seen any ethanol blended gas in Alaska.

There was a website to find ethanol free gas and it says there is a grand total of two ethanol free gas stations in all of Cali.. I ran leaded race gas in my Yota and my ecu adjusted timing for it and ran great. The US Gov subsidizes big Ag and pays them to grow more gmo corn to shove up our asses sideways. Everything is being made of corn these days, if you have a station you can get that gas then use it as much as you can because one day all gas will be 10% bullshit just like Comifornia, I will move from Ca when I have the funds.

I find it interesting that ethanol can't be found in gas stations in California of all places. Isn't the whole purpose of ethanol is that its more environmentally friendly? I figure cali would eat that up.

Ive been running Ethanol Free 87-oct in my truck ('02 3RZ) for years. Starts easy(er), idles smooth(er), mileage improved. Costs about ten-cents more per gallon, but with the improved mileage, longer lasting valvetrain and improved performance its better than a break even.

I could be wrong, my memory is not the best, but I thought the "corn" gas is for a alternative "feel good" fuel to appease the do gooders. Ethanol is junk,,,, use more diesel to plant more corn,,,, use more diesel to transport more corn gas because it eats up pipelines,,,, but gives you less mileage in your vehicle so you pollute more because you have to burn more to get from point a to point b. Yep, makes perfect sense to me.
I don't understand how those farmers have so much control on the decision making.
