I am currently in the process of coating a set of caliraised bolt on sliders.

I’ve got them primed and ready to be sprayed with rusto bedliner spray, but I’ve got a hold up.

There is a large mating surface that contacts the frame on these.

My concern is that spraying the textured bedliner on the mating surface will end up wearing on the coating on the frame and causing a potential corrosion hazard.

Has anyone sprayed a set of sliders with bedliner and then later removed them and witnessed any such wear?

My plan is to spray the sliders entirely, then take a pad of green scotch bride to the mating surface to knock down the roughness of the bedliner, then maybe spray over with some matte enamel paint. Also planning on a generous dose of fluid film on the frame before install.

I would be concerned about the thickness of the bedliner interfering with the fit of the sliders. Why not mask off the mating surface and then do that part with enamel and no bedliner?

Not too worried about that seeing as they came raw and from the factory LineX is an option, so I would imagine that enough tolerance is built into the design accommodate coating.

I’d be worried about a break in continuity between different coatings leading to flaking, which makes me think to knock down the bedliner a bit after spraying then seal over with paint.
