Nice, I thought I put a lot of miles on my truck, 30K a year or so. You’re slamming miles onto that Tacoma, excellent.

Holy shit. Glad to see so many high miles. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago with 278 miles on it. Already at 1100. I love it,and will keep it forever...or until the wheels fall off..whichever comes first lmao

    Towing my old frontier

    102,xxx miles

    To accurately update:

    Snow tires and BFG KO2
    Front brakes at 90k
    Full fluids change at 60k
    Spark plugs at 90k
    Regular oil changes
Suspension is tired from all the towing I do with it.

Nothing else. I’m deciding what suspension I want to do on it right now.

    Love the truck.

What’s your take on towing with the Tacoma?

I have been extremely pleased with how it tows. If your old tow vehicle was a full size diesel then I’m sure you will find it underpowered. But it moves my car hauler and my 6x12 tándem axle enclosed trailer full of tools and materials around fine. I live in Michigan with is relatively flat and low elevation, so I wouldn’t expect it to do as well in a mountainous area. Yeah it’s working if you want to go 80-85 on the highway towing but like I said it’s never been an issue for me. Just shift down if you need to get up and go for some reason.

Thanks for your feedback. Seems reasonable. I’ve noticed some negative reviews from TW members about towing with the Tacoma. I think it comes down to perspective, trailer weight, road/surface conditions etc.

    I hit 142k today.

maintenance on my truck as follows.

Oil change every 5-7 k on 20k rated Mobile extended performance oil and filter

    72k Front brake pads
    100k radiator flush
    100k Spark plugs changed
    120k trans service
    140k radiator flush

this is all I have done other than change tires. At 150k I plan to do rear drum brakes, new serpentine belt and radiation hoses.

My 200k service will be trans again, ignition coils, plugs, brakes... multi point inspection to make sure she’s still like new.

My hats off to you. I drive a lot for work and own a Tacoma. I can promise you that there is zero chance I would have picked a Tacoma for a highway cruiser. The fuel mileage is awful and the transmission drives me crazy. I have rented 26 different vehicles this year and I would pick all but maybe 2 or 3 before the Tacoma for that much driving. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, but not for a lot of high speed highway driving. I'm guessing you spend about $18K in fuel. The f-150 and the Silverados I have rented got easily 25mpg. You could have saved $5k in fuel alone and had a more comfortable ride with more space.

    Bought my 2016 sport 4x back in Sept15 2015
Just rolled over 50,000 last week. Love my truck its heavily modded and i am still not done adding! Its been my daily driver except for 1 yr that my work had me in a company ford F150 so i should have a good 15,000 more miles on it but glad i dont! My plan is to be driving this truck for many more trouble free years!

    Build thread coming soon.
Maybe so but you can't beat the truck for all around work on and off road, get you there, through the thick and back home. Have no gripes about the mileage, 3" lift armor and all I get between 17½ to 18½ mpg with 33's and dont have to worry about the eco boost turbos getting weak or maybe even taking a crap on me around 100k or so.

I believe that was a 4cyl fleet truck. I haven’t seen anyone on TW post a 3.5 with over 150k miles, which I would love to see. I plan on getting a 2020+ 3.5 later down the road
