Wow! I gotta see this lanyard. Must be something special or hideous!

To start with, we both told her that it was a dumb idea to hang stuff off of her key. She thinks it is an absolute necessity to not lose the key.

On the lanyard (typical neck length that lives in a backpack pocket, I suppose) is the car key, house keys, small change wallet, a metal key chain souvenir, and a canister of mace. She says that she takes the change wallet off when driving. It makes me a bit bonkers to deal with it when I need to move her car to get out of the garage. So, I was pulling the key off for my own zen. Now, I don't have to deal with it at all, and we have a second set because I know the key will get locked in the car with the lanyard loop hanging out the door.

Same here, and only 20mo apart. :frusty: My wife threw a cold dose of reality at me when she said that the youngest would be taking driver training this summer.

They're both smart and completely irrational at the same time. At least the oldest finally understands why a hatchback made sense over the 'cute' sedans.

Like @PapaRee said, our own sanity has to factor in. She's a really good driver, so we're picking our battles. Yeah, the GM thing made me reconsider my thoughts about them just as I was thinking the bankruptcy finally did some real good for them. Same old idiots doing engineering by committee, accountant, and / or secret settlement.

I liked those QRs as a kid and eventually just left the ignition key in the car and took my door key along. To this day, I don't use key chains. Just a bare key. At least I convinced my wife that this was the smart way to go.

I'm sure hes must really busy prepping his own truck for SEMA. He must have a lot to do in such little time since it's less than 1 month away

@MESO I know this is brought up pretty often in this thread, but any updates on the flip fob? It's been almost 2 months since the last update when you said you had found a vendor for the H key.

You were exactly right. @MESO confirmed in a newsletter that they are ankle deep in SEMA prep.

Yes. You are right. It is only for Tacos and T4Rs with a physical key to start the engine.

    Well . . . :D

You do have a couple choices in fobs already. @MESO 's mimalist and the other one that can store the valet key?

Myself, I always thought the VW keys were killer, but we never owned one. Now, my daughter has a Mazda with a flip key and I can't abide that for much longer.

My truck still hasn’t arrived. But that’s okay. I can spend $50 for a bottle opener.

    Happy Halloween. I’m drunk.
