I should preface this by saying I know very little about building/rebuilding shocks.

Is it standard practice or practice at all to place a vacuum on shocks before pressurizing them?

I was bleeding my MTB brakes today and am always amazed at how many air bubbles form with even a light vacuum. I imagine the same could be done on shock oil.
