Hey howdy, new Tacoma owner in New Haven. I found a manual 2019 TRD O/R DCSB in cavalry blue, 100% the exact truck I was shopping for, on the lot at Hoffman in Simsbury and I am beyond loving it so far.

Finally picked my truck up after roughly ten years of wanting one, and one near miss about two years ago that resulted in buying an XTerra instead. My automotive background is in old Volvo’s, I currently have a 91 740 sedan that I manual swapped and lifted 2.5” and three some grabber at2s at. The XTerra got a 2” lift and a set of Wildpeak 33s shortly before selling it. Now I need to get the Tacoma up to the task of keeping up with my lady’s 2013 Rubicon 2dr, so I’m definitely looking forward to tinkering on it a bit.

Hope Hoffman treated you well. They dicked me around a bit when I was first looking for a tacoma. Their Audi and Ford dealerships did well by my dad though so I can’t hate them entirely.

I was actually very happy with my experience there. I had every intention of buying from A1, less than a mile from my place. Based on my initial visits, they were insanely helpful, fairly knowledgeable, and maybe the least pushy dealership I’ve ever been to (Hoffman was equally not-pushy). Hoffman happened to have the truck I wanted, and it was priced 2k below any other comparable truck in the state.
I stopped into Colonial in Milford as well, and had the second of two extremely negative experiences there. I will never, ever, under any circumstances, step foot into Colonial again, let alone drive by the dealership without flipping them the bird out the window.

I’m not going to go too crazy with this one. I’ll probably stick to an OME lift and 33” wild peaks. Aside from that, a decent camping/mountain biking bed setup of some sort, most likely involving a Softopper unless I can find a cheap used aluminum contractor cap with a single side of cabinets.

Currently have a Thule T2 but looking to cut down on overall length/retain backup camera usability. I’m going to order a second gen 3rd bed rail this week and slap on some fork mounts with 15mm thru axle and lefty adapters.

A couple years ago I was looking at a used tacoma there. They were dead set on their price (above market pricing btw) and were screwing me on my trade in. I walked away late in the evening but the sales guy knew I work the town over, and said for me to come in the next day during my lunch to see if we could come to terms. I showed up the next day during my lunch break, only to have him tell me he sold it, let’s get you i a new one.

Fast forward a couple years. After I bought my tacoma from another dealer, I stopped by Hoffman to talk to a service manager about something that was going on with the truck, and wanted to get them to look at it. Gave a tech all my info, he said I would hear from a service manager within the next day. Never heard from them and said fk it, if they can’t give me the courtesy of a call they don’t need my business.

My dad got a f250 from their ford dealership in East Hartford; and an Audi suv from their Audi place, also in East Hartford. Had an AMAZING experience with them.

At the end of the day, I’m happy with how everything happened. Shortly after looking at that truck at Hoffman, our company was acquired and there was question as to whether our office (and jobs) would remain.

After the acquisition, we’re busier than ever and I ended up finding a deal at Stephens in Bristol that I thought was honest pricing and they gave me what I wanted for my trade in.
