At least Hwy 2 is scenic. They could also stop around skykomish/foss river road and play in some dirt while heading over that way. :notsure:

Don’t take the ferry from Seattle. Better to drive to Anacortes which is a really beautiful town btw

Complicated topic, but basically gentrification and housing prices increasing 2-3x the amount in a short time frame coupled with lenient homeless policies. It was never that bad growing up there. Average new home price last year was around 850k on the east side (Bellevue). Single bedroom apartments average well over 2k/month with no rent control causing huge increase in rent prices. I've since moved out from the city and now live about 40 minutes away where I can have a nice house for the price of a fixer upper shack there.

From what I understand, Amazon isn't adding new buildings or departments to their seattle location and is shifting everything over to Bellevue (east of lake washington). They've bought a lot of land there recently as well. This is going to probably make bellevue even more expensive then it is already.

Salaries are pretty high to compensate. You can find cheaper living situations if you live outside of the city and are willing to commute. My friend takes the rail downtown and back because he makes about 40k more working for Amazon than he would elsewhere locally. I live about 40 minutes out from the city and have zero intention of moving back there.

Are you takin your truck on? From Friday Harbor you can continue on to Sidney on Vancouver Island, then drive down to Victoria which is awesome. From there you can take a ferry back to Pt Angeles on he Olympic Pensinsula which is the gateway to Olympic national park
Should be nice weather for that stuff the next couple of days

Seattle’s like that fuckhead relative that you see once or twice a year. You think about them occasionally and have some found memories and the first hour or so is enjoyable being around them, but then you’re glad when the festivities are over and you only see them a few times a year. That’s why I moved East if the Cascades after a lifetimes on the Coast
