Lots of dollars and no sense...

If you read back through here there is a part number for 2inch and 4 inch leg to extend and touch the axle. Will need to be welded to the original foot that doesn't touch the axle. I had to have someone else do that but the rest of the job is straight forward. But takes waaaay longer than the 1-2 hour suggested time. I ended up with half done one night and had to take off work the next day to finish. I couldn't be happier with their use and performance and ride. It's perfect for any truck owner. I will continue to use these with whatever truck or trucks that come next.

You're right - I did miss your point. I did not know Firestone made those brackets.

I made my own -but I had to adapt to my u-bolt flip.

I have some pictures of what I built in my build thread - towards the end.

Exactly my point. I only have 2" between the top of my bump stop and the frame bracket. Classic overload. I want to make sure I have all the parts before I start or if I have someone else do it they have everything. Price for those extensions is stupid but cheaper than hiring someone to weld.

a u-bolt flip kit with an extension and "leg" would be a great idea...That said, I have the firestone full kit with Daystar cradles and that's where I'll start since I don't have a flip kit on it (at least not yet). If you want I can probably make measurements of that tonight. What I can say is that on an 05 Tacoma with stock TSB replacement leaf springs the brackets are only about 1/4" short so probably either size extension would work, but as others have said earlier, you can always cut them off and make them shorter. It's ridiculous that the Firestone kit which is purpose built for the Tacoma does not offer this adjustability...ridiculous.

When I was looking a couple weeks ago, 4wheelparts.com was offering free installation at any of their locations. They were $70 more than Amazon, but if they would've taken care of this issue during the "free install" it would have been well worth it...just checked and the free install is no longer offered. Not sure if that's a seasonal thing or what, they were running some kind of suspension month for September, maybe it'll be back at some point though if you're willing to wait it out.

I ended up not using my bracket kit.

Mounted the bags directly to the bump stop pads on the frame, then bolted the daystar cradles to my Timbren mounting pads. 5E59F0B5-8231-4688-A5E7-8DD216AD237F.jpg

Nice! Is that a daystar cradle or a custom cradle too? I thought about this too especially when I realized that Firestone offsets the bag for seemingly no reason...i thought it could go right onto the factory bumpstop bracket just like that. I'd do it like that if I had the time and energy to do the custom job...i bought the full kit instead of just the bags hoping for a truly bolt on kit to avoid down time on the truck, but alas I'll be doing some welding :/

That’s where I was. OME Dakar pack required a solution for spacers.

I had already flipped my timbrens for water/muck, so the holes were already in the pads. Just opened them up a bit to allow for the offset inlet/mounting of the bag. I liked the idea of a straight load directly to the frame from spring, rather than the cantilever of the bracket kit.

    Standard daystar cradles.

The mount is the lower Timbren mounting pad. Would be super easy to reproduce if you have the welder out.

That’s strange, my Daystar cradles fit perfectly on top of my factory leaf springs and 1” block with the Riderite brackets. Everything lined up perfect and the bags fall naturally in the cradles when they extend

Can you please add some pictures. I'm going back and forth with Firestone on this. They are now saying the extra brackets aren't needed.

I’m only running like 5-10psi to use them like air bumps at the moment as I have no weight in the back. The bracket is on top and the daystar cradle sits perfectly on top and the alignment of the bags is perfect when dropped out and going back in. My truck is 12 DCLB with tow package. No add a leaf or crazy leaf packs. I wanted it to drive smooth loaded or unloaded. And I go camping and tow a Centurion wakesurf boat and dirtbikes and zero issues, you never know it’s loaded suspension wise. Levels it nicely. And this is what they look like after 7 years and 70k+ miles on them.

I read every post. I visited ARB and Daystar ate Overland Expo East. I was able to look at about 6 vehicles with the setup. Most meld the extra bracket. Firestone sells a bolt on. F2507 (you have to frill holes in the bottom bracket) OK4WD sells a weld on bracket.

My local dealer refused to use the Daystar cradles because Firestone supposedly won't warranty the bags.

I found another dealer who does them all the time with the cradles and bolt on brackets. They have never had a problem with Firestone warranty.

I scheduled the install for the 29th. I would do it myself if I had space to do it or a lift. With my current living situation I don't. About $708.00 installed. I hate to spend the extra money but time and space...

OK, check my pics on post# 200. I bolted mine to make it easier to modify later if I installed another leaf pack. As for installation time and space, any gas station mechanic can do the job while you wait.

Torque resells the Firestone kit and replaces the FS airbag with their own that is thicker and has a higher weight rating?

Correct. They're the same kit, but Torque's are thicker and they are less expensive. Only drawback is the 1 year warranty from Torque, compared to the lifetime airbag warranty from Firestone. They're probably the same company as the instructions and parts are almost identical. Either works fine, just don't get the Air Lift brand airbags...

Air Lift bags are fine, but the bags are thinner and start to develop leaks long term...
