Thanks for the warm welcome !. I've known this truck since it was new, a friend of 30 years owned it and took excellent care of it. I coveted this truck since 2007. Everytime I'd see him around town I'd ask him if his truck was for sale, he would always say 'no way dude'. Or he would ask 'whats wrong with your TJ...(I have a Jeep that has been problematic with a faulty ECU being the bane in my life, as well as a myriad of other things... He would laugh and say "get a Tacoma bro". To which my reply would often be "sell me yours bastard"..Always the answer was a stern "NAW" with a good laugh.. That was what i got used to hearing for the next 11 years..

For the last 3 years though, I saw the Tacoma sitting undercover collecting dust, during that time I asked him why he wasn't driving the Toyota, instead choosing to drive a brand new Nissan pickup!!..When I saw him I asked "whats wrong with the tacoma?, wanna sell it ??, He still said he didn't want to sell the Tacoma....I asked, "Why are you driving a Nissan then?, did you lose a bet or somethin??"

Turns out his parents bought him the Nissan because they thought is was time to get a new truck..,and (this is a true story I shit you not)...Jamie started driving the Nissan because he didnt want to offend his parents. and the taco had been sittin gatherin dust. I would walk by it stare at it for a while shake my head...Life was cruel....

Then one day in early august of this year I asked my usual question only this time he said "why yes, it is for sale"..'wanna buy it Mark". ?? I nearly fell over, I started babbling and stuttering..."how much, uhh, are you serious, (haha nervous laughter) Jamie?.are you, haha why you wanna sell it, your just shittin me right?".

He gave in because he didn't want the Tacoma to rot, a fate unworthy of such a truck. Sitting undercover watching the world go by as the air slowly bleeds out of the tires.. marking the passage of time by the collection of dust and pigeon poop accumulating on the white paint..

So, He sold it to me because he knows I'll take good care of it, like giving up a favorite pet to a good home., He put a new clutch plate in it, new tires, and a full exhaust system from the manifold back...He asked for the total cost of those improvements as payment.

I paid 5k for this truck, and i'm gonna make it shine folks..And Jamie is gonna see it happen and hate me more and more with every improvements, while he drives his ..Nissan..to make his parents happy...

Sorry so long in the tooth but hopefully some of you enjoyed that story. Im super happy to have the truck, my wife doesn't understand why i didn't just get a new one...I still love her though..I guess.
