    More than I can afford
The one and only time I took my X-Runner to the dealership the tech (from the looks of it) used my engine cover as a hardware tray and dragged it across his bench or the shop floor. It was filthy and scratched all to shit.
I should have driven right back over there and raised a big stink about it.

While I get that most owners these days never look under the hood, one would think that as a mechanic if you are doing work on a 100k mile truck that has an engine bay so clean you could eat off of it, you would exercise just a little bit of care. Either because you give a shit (ha) or you know this would probably be the guy to bitch about things like that.

90% of dealership techs at toyota are prob str8 outta high school, first job, working on going to training etc....I avoid it at all costs...Not only that, prob the communication between service advisor, lot tech moving your truck, tech, shop foreman are almost zero..

If you think car dealerships are bad,it's just as bad or worse with boat dealers.Picked up a boat for someone I fish with that had warranty work done on outboard. Was just ready to take off,and noticed that the engine cowl was put back on half-assed.Had I not noticed,it would have ended up in a ditch or someone would have hit it on the road.
When I took the GF's Nissan van in for a tune-up(sucky job-V6),they left the engine cover unbolted. But tech left a nice Matco ratchet with the coveted 10mm socket.I just found some bolts from my cannibalized outboard stash, zipped it up and tossed ratchet into my toolbox.
Just love it when techs leave nice tools for you.But hate it when they leave hack jobs.
