Just curious where people prefer to go for their oil change and maintenance.

I am able to do it myself on a hoist as I work as a Mercedes tech. If I did not have access to hoist I would DIY on ground at home.

I do it myself because the Toyota dealership can't even take my lug nuts off without fucking them up.

Me. Chancing your vehicle in the hands of a stranger, seems like risky business to me.

Mainly. DIY for me, however I am taking advantage of the two free ones from the dealer, and change mine myself in between to keep up the 5k intervals. Once my second freebie is complete next year it'll be strictly myself (I know, I know this is an contested topic here on TW)

Edit: I would never EVER go to jiffy lube with any of my vehicles or any other quick lube for that matter.

I do it myself, cost under $20 and I feel better taking my time and checking the truck over.

Only 1900 miles on my truck (bought it in May lol) but when I do get it changed next May I'm having Toyota do it since I paid for it in the price of my truck.

After Toyotacare I plan to do most of the maintenance myself.

I have 2nd Gen, but since June 2018 it’s always been one of the many private mechanics I know. I’ve been running full synthetic since January 2018 and Mobil 1 full synthetic since June 2018. Now that my dad has a custom “garage-majal”, I will be doing all future oil changes myself every 10K miles.

Check out Mobil 1's website as they do $12 rebates off a jug a few times a year, I usually stock up on it and it helps keep the total cost of your change under $20.

52K on my taco. I have done the oil changes every 5k myself - simply dont trust the dealers to do it right and not damage anything in the process. Also skipped all the free oil changes under toyota care for the same reason. Easier and faster to do them myself.

Dealer, got another 3 years of free oil changes. Dealer has one of their techs do my oil change rather than the oil boys as I have skid plates and such that make it a pain in the ass. So far no fuck ups and I’m happy with their services.

I get them and tire rotations for free at the dealership for as long as I own the truck. They even deduct the cost of them if it's part of a regular periodic maintenance check.

I don’t trust the dealerships so I am going to my buddy’s Precision Tune. They do a good job for me and they are honest.

Dealership does mine, because they offer lifetime warranty on the engine parts if they do the oil changes.

I do it myself. I was covered under toyotacare and tried taking the skid plate off to get to the filter, one of the bolts was rusted in or something I could not get it to budge so eventually I took it into the dealer for a "free" oil change. Took it home and I know they didn't take that damn skid plate off, that bolt didn't move. I heated it up and broke the damn bolt got to the filter and it appeared as if it wasn't changed. I now do them all myself every 5k miles

So you were covered under toyota care but tried to take off your skid plate to do it yourself. One of the bolts was rusted so you decided to take it in and have them do it for free. You knew they didn't do it because the bolt was still rusted on there and so you took the bolt off yourself the second time. Sounds legit.

Edit* just giving you a hard time lol.

I'm letting toyota for now do my oil changes.. and i'm waiting for a callback for a service appt to get my new HPFP replaced (the squeek), and probably its 3rd oil change since I bought it used in 2018 (20k miles on it) just now at 33000miles... due at 34k miles..

when it runs out I'll be doing my own oil changes.. tacomas are stupid easy to do...
