I have a 06 Tacoma that is in my name and currently has around 150k miles. I have fixed a couple of things on it. (Like having to buy catalytic converters.) So as of recently, it should be in good health. I just graduated college and will be starting a career soon where my base pay will be 50k plus commission. I have been wanting a 3rd gen Tacoma for the longest and would sell my truck for at least 10k and save some more as a down payment. I love the look of the 3rd gens, and I want a 4wd truck. Should I take this huge leap?

Do it. You only live once!

don’t do it. Be financially responsible.

i would keep it. Are you the type of person who is ok with a SR or do you want a TRD pro? there is a 20k dollar difference. Thats alot to finance.

Hows your credit coming out of college? if its like mine i had very little credit history so my rates would have been terrible.

Keep it and drive it till it dies. Then get one new

Younger generation never listens anyway. So buy it new now

I'd keep the 06 for a couple more years, then trade it in for a 2020

I’d also say that if you go with the impulse and treat yourself to a 3rd win, don’t get a girlfriend.... it will make up for money spent on a new truck...

I'd wait/save for a few years. Your priorities may change a lot in the next few years. Life without a car payment is a better life.

Hold the job for a year then reassess.

In one year you will have a good idea of what your take-home pay actually looks like, and youll have a better idea on how secure your job is. Do your best to avoid large purchases unless you have spent some time in your job.

    Oh, and congrats, new grad.

Oh well, in that case get you the 3rd win and do get a boyfriend (preferably an ugly one), that way, it will make up for the money spent on the new truck

If I was in your shoes, I'd run the 06' to the ground and have extra money. That 06' might even outlive you if maintained.

I just think its not a bad idea to ask for others opinions. I am really stuck in the middle of this.
