I heard that with UPS if you get in any accident, your fault or not, you are off of the road for a year. True or not?

Like I said, I did smoke pot many years ago, and I drink alcohol infrequently now.

My experience is that alcohol will pass through your system much faster than marijuana.

At my job, politics, religion, sexual orientation, age, after work activities etc. do not matter as long as you can get a job done.

If you can't be trusted to get something done without making "stupid" mistakes, you just end up getting assigned more menial type jobs and probably will be doing them forever. If you are the type of person that is happy with that, good for you.

I hope it is. I heard someone say that and figured that it was bullshit. If you aren’t at fault, why would they punish you?

No generation in history is more hit-or-miss with regard to lifestyle/experiences as boomers.

It's either "literately grabbed secretary ass at my last few jobs until I got fired, but stuck it out at the last one to falsify injury reports and retire early collecting $100k+ indefinitely on disability" or "I'm 65, partially crippled due to a bad back and knees, but I'm finally able to retire with hypertension and mild PTSD".

Yeah that's not a thing. If it's due to negligence on your part they'll just fire you. But they understand things happen for the most part.

Welders with 4 years experience make 300k a year? I guess I need to leave the medical field now.

RN just requires a basic class and an exam. That being said most have degrees and advanced degrees and are making anywhere from $60k-$90k from what I’ve seen, I highly doubt a welder is pulling 3 times that unless he owns his own very busy fabrication shop.

I think marine welders (underwater) make around $100k a year.

Although not extremely common it is often heard that welders working pipeline jobs out in Texas easily clear over $3k+ a week. Hell, even welders working in refineries in Houston easily make over $100k if they work the whole year. I have experienced the welders working in refineries firsthand so I can vouch for that.

I refuse to identify as a "millennial," it bothers me that Gen Y was just merged in, but yeah... I'm a late 80's kid with a 3rd-Gen. Loved the 1st-Gen in the aughts, but the 2nd-Gens were a big turn off for me.

Pipeline is ridic, my childhood friend did it for about 15 years and has a place of his own in 3 states, one has a grass runway for his hobby planes & copters.
Moved home & opened a fab shop a couple years ago, semi retired, go to college they say! Haha, jkjk..

Long ago I used to crack jokes on Millennials. Then I found out because I was born mid 80's that I'm considered millennial. At least I grew up as a kid doing this :bikewhoops:

    ... instead of this :pccoffee:
