Thanks for sharing the story. I just came across it on the motorcycle forum I read and thought I would see if anyone has posted it here yet.
I hope they find this person soon.

Not to be a wise***, but your comment makes it sound like you contributed to the problem. :)

Out of curiosity, has the bad guy been found?

Don't by previous owner. Lift and wheels. I've added an alpine stereo and speakers. Amp to come soon. Camper shell and mattress
I always recommend that motorcyclists ride with a .45 fmj. Left side holster... So you can maintain throttle while aiming. Be ready with the throttle and escape plan. Shoot the radiator a few times to kill the imminent 4 wheeled threat. then gas and go. The only threat you can present to make car drivers think twice is to be heavily armed.

If that doesn't stop the imminent threat to your life their is also a target in the cab. Both the person and vehicle represent a threat to your life with a lethal weapon.
Defending yourself accordingly is only fair.

Is that a Dennis Nedry ah ah ah, or keyboard warriors ha ha ha?

Either way 20+ years in military and civilian firearms training with moving targets. It's not John Wick it's practice. Not to mention most radiators are as big as 6 targets.

The reason you go fmj instead of ppa. Is because it penetrates metal better.

If someone is threatening your life. You have the right to protect yourself. Because cops don't for everywhere and some of them will just stand there while you're murdered.

It's a hahaha, as in I am laughing at you. I laughed out loud at my desk when I read what you had typed because it was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read. Let's break this down:

Yes, shooting off-hand while on a motorcycle at a likely moving target is definitely a legitimate course of action. Nothing wild there.

Shooting a vehicle's radiatior will not stop the vehicle. It is still going to drive for quite some time. If you are in such immediate danger from this vehicle that you need to use lethal force then shooting the radiator with a handgun round will do nothing. But maybe you're carrying a Desert Eagle. Which you shoot off-hand. While riding your motorcycle. And shooting at a moving vehicle. Under the stress of a deadly threat against your person.

Think twice of...what? Cutting you off? For one, most drivers (and people in general) have the observation skills of a dead dog. They aren't going to see your holster, even if it is your sweet gold-plated Desert Eagle. If your plan is "make this guy think that if he cuts me off I will shoot him", shit, man, we got bigger problems.

If somebody in a vehicle wants to hurt you, they're probably going to hit you with their vehicle. But it's okay, they'll have a leak in their radiator afterward from when you shoot them then drive off in 1st gear because you can't shift with your Desert Eagle in your hand.

Okay so let's go over physics real quick. Let's say you are threatened by homeboy in his shitty 95 Civic. You feel as though you are justified in using lethal force, so you do so and get a headshot with your Desert Eagle, exploding his cranium. If his vehicle is in drive, or already moving--and you talked about moving targets so I'm guessing it is--then what happens to that car? I've never exploded somebody's skull with a Desert Eagle, but I'm guessing that they aren't able to shift it in to park afterward.

I really want to know what you did for the military that involved shooting a handgun while riding a motorcyle and shooting at a vehicle's radiator. So far I haven't met anybody who's said that was part of any training. Maybe it's in the Q-Course or something the TACPs have added.

I'm seriously curious as to what scenario you have in your head in which any of your advice is reasonable. I'm all for carrying whenever you want; one of my favorite things about this state is constitutional carry and the only place I don't carry a gun is the gym--thankfully that's what the home gym is for.

I'm guessing I took the troll bait, so you had better double down on this and keep it going.

    Okay keyboard warrior it is.

This thought is not based on unintentional stupidity.

The scenario has nearly played out for me more than once. The furthest it has gone is someone intentionally threatening me with their car. To which I responded by unholstering. I was already moving.

Once you lose the fluid in current day cars the computer kills the ignition. If you've ever blown a radiatir you would know that. Also, fmj doesn't just stop after going through a panel. That's just Hollywood. It will pass through many parts. Most people are not driving with hardened blocks these days.

I've taken mirrors off many times.

And yes I'm already geared and moving. Your car or truck will not keep up with my bike without a hole in the radiator. At least not the average car that is regulated to 108mph before computer throttle cut off.

So unless you can push 160 plus. I'm leaving you with faster throttle, and higher top end. You won't catch up until you can exceed 150 when I'm into long run throttle and 5 miles away.

Tell me more about how many mirrors you've taken off by doing...whatever you did to take people's mirrors off.
