    Yep, two solid days of trial fits and cutting, but end result is a lower profile than most 3rd gen bumpers. TSS functionality is retained on the stock grille, too.

    Only remaining item is to fabricate a couple of filler pieces out of rubbery fender liner material to cover up the area below the headlights.

    I know. I'm already running GearTech splash guards. That material would be ideal, but I'm looking to spend in the $30 range instead of the $140 range. :laugh: I picked up a GrillPro BBQ mat from Home Depot today.

    Over the past weekend, I did more trimming of the bumper and raised it up another 3/4" compared to the photos.

    Yeah this bumper is made by Lil B's Custom Fabrication in Denver, and they list it at 105, full steel.

    I believe the Runnin4Tacos guys are resellers/testers for him, maybe the partnership even deeper than that. Runnin4tacos also may have actual stock vs ordering in and having it made, IDK.
    I ordered this one direct from LilB and just waiting for him to make it just because I had a bunch of questions and wanted to talk to fabricator, so I was talking to him already. Here are some pics by Runnin4 aka Taco Twonz of the bumper on their truck:

    Standard modifications to fit typical 3rd gen plate bumper:
    • Relocate power steering cooler. Either fab your own brackets or buy them separately from a 3rd gen bumper vendor. I bought All-Pro P/N AP-305706. They came bare steel. I had to paint them and source a pair of 5/16" dia. nuts and bolts.
    • Trim plastic radiator ducts.
    • Trim fender liners.
    • Trim fender flares.
    • Either cut your plastic bumper cover or fabricate filler pieces for the gap below each headlight.
    • Coilover adjustments as required to restore ride height.
    Additional modifications to fit 2nd gen plate bumper on 3rd gen. Everything above plus:
    • Make a cutout on the winch platform to clear the A/C line. A hole saw worked well for this.

    • Trim about 2" from each corner to clear the fenders.

    • Make a horizontal cut through the grille assy below the Toyota emblem. 2018+ trucks with the Pro grille will lose TSS functionality.
    • Notch the grille further in the LH and RH corners to clear the hoops as required.
    The 2nd gen and 3rd gen frames are similar enough that all the hard mounting points are identical for the front bumper.

    I have a CBI T3 (there are pics of it somewhere here), they have a similar lines, which is nice. I was considering putting on different flares, and like yourself, I think I'd run into issue with flare overlaping side edge of the bumper. Decisions, decisions....

    Thanks, It doesn't look that bad with the fenders hanging over but I have thought about that also. I was thinking about getting some flares that aren't as wide as these but it doesn't bother me enough to burn the brain cells..lol
