    2019 TOYOTA TACOMA TRD SPORT
    hello all;

    I've been having the same issue as many here. I own a 2019 toyota tacoma trd sport and would like to upgrade the front grill (toyota tacoma pro). I ordered the grill (part #
    PT228-35180) through my local toyota dealer. after more than a month of waiting the dealer came back to me stating that Toyota was not selling pro grills without a proper VIN#. They waited a month for saying that! frustrating!. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone know if the older tacoma pro grill (PT228-35170), a little more expensive, would fit my 2019 tacoma trd sport (i would need to only buy the grill garnish sensor cover separately)? . Also, if someone has a 2019 tacoma PRO VIN# they are willing to share that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Look at thetacogarage.com. I just ordered a pro grill and factory garnish for $239 to my door. It's for my sons 18 TRD. I looked at the video and his reviews, awesome grill, factory garnish and price. I have the OEM grill and garnish before the price hike of the garnish from $50 to over $300. Get yourself one from the taco garage.

    Good luck finding an OEM garnish for $50. Toyota cranked up the price a few months ago. Some people have issues with the cheaper garnish.

    I literally ordered the cheapest PRO one I could find on ebay, and bought a 45 garnish https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OE...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

    no issues, just make sure the TSS is secured.. any flopping, flexing or movement between it and the garnish will through an error. Initially, I only screwed it in with one screw(top screw.. because youtube) and it would throw an error after about 5 miles of driving. The TSS should be bolted on with 3 fasteners and not an error since.

    good luck!

    I tried that a few times and Toyota catches on. Try seeing if a dealer can do a local check and see if another dealer has it in stock.

    Just get the fake grills + garnish

    99% of the timw they are exactly the same as oem and cost much less with no senseless vin requirement.

    I got my OEM Pro Grille from Pinehurst Toyota. This was the fourth dealer I tried by giving them a used Pro VIN number I found at another dealership. They processed my order in a week, total cost was $252. Ordered garnish from EBAY for $49, the TSS works just fine.

    Was attempting to do everything I possibly could to avoid supporting the Chinese in any way. I was willing to spend the extra, but waited too long. I was able to pick up the OEM garnish from Amazon thinking the grill would be the easy part, as they initially jacked up the garnish first without jacking up the grill or placing conditions on it. I got the OEM garnish at the midway point in the price hikes. Finally after multiple attempts through dealers locally and on line I went with and his 20% "NEWTG" deal. My garnish ended up costing me $70 more than the entire grill o_O

    I had the same issue as you and ended up purchasing and installing the ‘17 pro grille after purchasing an 18 grille from eBay that arrived damaged. The 18-19 grille is literally the same grill except for the garnish. In fact the 18-19 grill has the Base P/N PT 228-35170 stamped in the grille.

    Look for seller jp-genuine on ebay for the garnish. Just ordered for $50 and its OEM. Shipped from CA-CT and was in my hands in two days..

    I bought the PT228-35170 grill and bought the knock off garnish on Amazon. Both have worked amazing so far. The PCA light did turn on for a few miles but it has since turned off. No issues so far. You have many routes to chose from. I believe Tacogarage.com recently posted a Youtube video explaining the differences between knock off and OEM. Small differences but some may have an issue with the knock offs. If you have any questions on install just reach out. I had a hard time removing the "star lock washers" off the back of the OEM garnish cover. I was able to replace those but you may want to go ahead and buy an extra set of those in case they break.

    I got the one with the garnish included from Mad Hornets for about $160 Canadian shipped, no issues whatsoever with the install or garnish and the quality seems to be on par with anything else you get these days.
