    Had a near-death experience this morning on the way to work.

    It wasn't going to be MY death, mind you, but a stoned homeless dude standing in the road staring at a street light. Had it not been for another vehicle lighting him up in their headlights I'd have plowed into him at about 45.

    Still a little shaky.

    Sent a "strongly worded email" to the city council and offered them the dash cam footage.

    (Un)ironically the council members that are super pro-homeless aren't in the districts where the homeless are camping. It's funny how your position on a particular issue changes the farther you are from it.

    My grandfather started building things, improving the house, refinishing furniture, and taught himself upholstery. He was busier after he retired from GM than he was when he was working.

    There's no reason you can't work. You just have a new boss...if you can get along with him. ;)

    Anchorage has this problem too, another reason I hate going south of the base exit.
    I will take this opportunity to praise Stitch's TSS...had a similar situation in town shortly after I bought the truck, drunk guy stumbled out in the road right in front of me, TSS was a split second quicker than me...I felt the truck braking at about the time my foot contacted the brake pedal but before I had applied pressure to it. I remember it clearly because it was such an odd sensation I had never experienced driving before. I gotta say, TSS is an application of technology that has impressed me and I fully endorse so far.
