Well i've been back from Ireland since Monday evening. Extremely busy with work and catching up on home duties, as well as trying to find the time to go over the photos, videos, and notes from our amazing trip.

Here are some of the highlights:

    11 days
3010 km (1870 miles) driven in a little RHD Opel. No toll roads taken the entire trip. The scenery was unreal.
Stayed in: Dublin, Belfast, Limerick, Waterford, Wicklow
Visited: Galway, Kinsale, Cork, Donegal, Killarney, Greystones, countless others
Castles: Castle Ward (Winterfell), Bunratty Castle, Blarney Castle, Cahir Castle, Rock of Cashel, Hore Abbey, Kilkenny Castle
Outside Attractions: Peace Wall, Dark Hedges, Giant's Causeway, Slieve League, Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry, Mahon Falls, Coumshingaun Lough, Dunmore East Cliffs, Powerscourt Estate and Gardens, Glendalough, Greystone Beaches
Other Spots visited: Kerry Bog Village, Brendan Ferris Sheepdog Demo, The English Market in Cork, Market in Kinsale, Avoca Mill, Kilmainham Gaol, Guinness Storehouse

The food everywhere was amazing. The weather worked out for the most part. Most, if not all of the places we visited weren't crowded at all (I was one of maybe 10 people in Blarney Castle), we had Mahon falls to ourselves for a few hours.

Saw amazing vehicles there, tons of build defenders, exotic Mclarens and even a lexas LFA. I even spotted an RS Cosworth in dark Green!

Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I know we're both looking forward to returning.

If you want to see more photos, check out my personal instagram: Joel.Wells

I'll eventually post some photos, but I just wanted to note some of the highlights off the top of my head. There are so many cool little stories that happened along the way, and i'm trying to write them all down so I remember forever!

So my passenger side top hat bushing failed yesterday.

And I happened to find these and picked them up last night:

Plan is to rent a compressor, adjust them for what I think I’ll need out of them, and clean them up with some paint on the coil springs after a good cleaning.

    All today after work lol

Nice to meet you @bruciep07 and thanks for meeting me in a pinch!!!

Make sure you get some sort of gusset to sandwich the shock mount. The icon top hats are known to explode.

    Spacers are a cheap option:

Here's what I went with from dirt designs:

Also allows for future crossover bracing because #notaracetruck

X2. I have seen many sad stories with guys having their top hats fail due to the stupid icon design which many times toasts their coil buckets as well. That spacer ideally makes it similar to kings/foxes an helps eliminate that C style design.

It doesn’t, but I thought Joel had OME/886

edit: jk. I didn’t read ahead and thought we were talking about the 886s still.

He did. I think his plan with the spring compressors is to adjust the new icons though. Which btw @Nimble9 if they are still the original 650 pounds springs I’ve always been able to adjust mine on the truck with jus the weight jacked off the suspension. If they are 700’s you will most likely need to compress the springs a touch.

One is done. These were extremely Seized. No amount of PB blaster was going to unlock this collar.

    098F2359-7CE4-4ADA-84F5-850AFA90CE84.jpg

I ended up having to use an air hammer to get the collar to spin. White corrosion all underneath. Also, I tried everything before marring the collar, but oh well.

Talked to a friend who told me where there might be one. They didn’t want me going back there at first but once we talked they were cool

    Thanks!

One shock collar was able to move (After using an air hammer and effing up 2 of the holes), but I moves freely now when the spring is compressed. The other shock didn't budge with an air hammer, so I've been soaking it with Acetone/ ATF (50/50) and I'm going back to the shop later today.

I already contacted ICON to see if I can just buy new collars, because I'm going to have to eventually run 700 lb 14" springs anyways once I get a winch. So I figured that'd be a good time to change them out haha
