Need help woth truck

    So i have a 96 tacoma with a 2.7 i have replaced the crankshaft position sensor and ecu the truck will turn over allday but not crank unless a obd2 is plugged into it but when you unplug the obd2 it dies ive erased code and still still does the same thing and ive have checked the grounds i just lost really need some help

    What sensor/system does the obII bypass in order to keep it running?

    Thats the thing with just having the obd2 hooked up it will start and idle but not for long before it dies again
