Back in the 70's there was a mil-surplus store here in town that had these. Always thought it woulda been cool to put one together.

Back in the 60's and well into the 70's, every gas station around here had one.
Most were used for snow plowing.
I believe these Jeeps could be had for less than $100.

Awesome. Nowadays most men couldn’t even figure out how to open the crate, let alone build it. And surely, nearly none could drive it due to it having a clutch.

    That, is pretty F'ing cool!

My POS Heep has been sitting in the garage for about 2 years now because it needs new brake lines for all four corners. I blew the front passenger side coming up to a stop sign on a busy street one evening. Talk about getting "Puckered up"! I had to slam it down into 1st and pray for a few seconds. I was able to limp it home about 5 miles after that.
From what I have seen, it is a pretty big undertaking for the 97-06' wranglers to replace all the lines from the booster manifold and back. Still in good shape for a 22 yr old Heep. I've had it since I was 20. Tried to sell it twice (both times the buyer had cash in hand, had to turn em down), but couldn't bring myself to part with it.

200+ on the old 4 banger. When it quits I'm going to put a 4BT Cummins in it. We won't go anywhere fast, but we will go anywhere.
