2004 TRD with cracked frame. Help!

New to the site. 8 year owner of a beautiful 2004 Black TRD which I love. My frame cracked near the right rear springs. Didn't know about frame replacement as I am 2nd owner and received no notifications or notice from my local Toyota dealer where I serviced for 8 years. Now I'm told my 15 year replacement time ran out July 30th, just a few weeks before my frame failed. Been thru it w/ Toyota and a long case, but they won't help even though they sent me no notice of the program. Feeling helpless and wondering what to do with my vehicle now. In NW Iowa.

 

Welcome aboard. Frames can be repaired depending on the extent of damage and rust. Use the search bar for frame rust repair you will see some horror stories and some good frame restoration. I used Safe-T-Cap prefab parts and welded them myself.

Got any pics of the cracked part? Might be repairable, Autorust.com sells portions of the frame that get welded in place of the rusted/broken areas.

Thanks everyone for replies and helpful thoughts. Here is what the separation looks like. It's in an area about 18" long around passenger side rear axle but most likely weakened in same area driver's side.

 

Safe-T-Cap frame repair part # for that area is TAC-157X $179.95 ea.side $339.95 both sides ordered togeather. It includes leaf spring mount. Check the frame for other areas of rust through.

 

Thank you all very much. Looks like I'm on the way to getting repaired. I'm not going to weld it myself. Will ask around at welding/body shops. I ran into liability issues with the couple welders I spoke with before I knew of the SAFE T CAP parts.
